Listen up, folks. I’ve been to a lot of places, but Treno Pizza Bar and my girl Jessica—the queen of all servers—just redefined what it means to be treated like royalty. Let’s get into it.
First off, let me talk about the Italian Olive Medley. Holy hell, if olives were a religion, I would be a devout follower. This dish was a blessing from the culinary gods themselves. We’re talking a riot of flavors here: you’ve got those rich, briny Castelvetrano olives—sweet, savory, buttery, like they were kissed by the gods of olive trees themselves. Then, the Kalamata olives? Don’t even get me started. They hit you with that sharp, bold flavor that screams sophistication, like they’ve been marinating in Mediterranean secrets for centuries. And Picholine olives? A whole new level of complexity, tangy and crisp, making my taste buds dance with joy. Tossed with olive oil and roasted red peppers? It’s like someone bottled up sunshine and poured it into my mouth. Every bite was an experience, a journey. This wasn’t just a side dish, this was a religious awakening.
Now, onto The Antipasto—Y’ALL. You’ve got a platter of salami, provolone, and pepperoncini that had my soul doing the cha-cha, and I’m telling you, if you don’t know what arugula should taste like, you haven’t lived. You can’t replicate this stuff down in Florida, okay? They don’t know how to make arugula sings like this in the sun-baked state of “orange juice and hurricanes.” The tomato was so ripe, I swear it was grown under a canopy of moonlight, kissed by an angel. And don’t even get me started on that balsamic glaze—it was thick and velvety, with a deep tang that hit all the right notes.
Then—THE CHEESE PLATE. Lord have mercy. If you haven’t experienced Manchego, Prairie Breeze, and Truffle Pecorino in perfect harmony, do yourself a favor and get on it—right now. Manchego? Like a buttery, nutty, almost sweet kiss from Spain that practically melts in your mouth. Prairie Breeze was like a deep breath of fresh air, aged to perfection, with a bold sharpness that made my heart race. And Truffle Pecorino—this cheese? This cheese should be illegal in the best way. It’s so good it should have its own Netflix documentary. Rich, earthy, and so intense I might’ve let out a little “Oooh!” as I bit into it. The candied walnuts were a sweet crunch that made me question every other nut I’d ever eaten in my life, the tomato tapenade was like a savory dream, and that fig jam was the silky, sweet dessert that sent me to heaven. Sesame crackers? You better believe I crunched every last bite of those with a sense of purpose—I could’ve eaten that whole plate twice over. But then I would’ve been sad, because the night would’ve ended too soon.
But here’s the thing—all this incredible food would’ve been a waste if I didn’t have the most positively aggressive server in the world—Jessica. Seriously, I’ve had some great service in my day, but Jessica didn’t just serve me, she transformed the experience. She was as sweet as pie and on it like you wouldn’t believe. Her knowledge of the menu was unreal—this woman knew every detail about every dish like it was a secret she’d been entrusted with to change lives. Want recommendations? She’s got them. Don’t know what to drink? She’ll match you with something that makes your taste buds weep with joy. She’s the server you ask for when you want the best experience.
I’m from Florida And let me tell you—we don’t do cheese like this down there. Florida cheese? Nah, it’s a whole different ball game. Up here, they craft cheese like it’s a masterpiece, a work of art, a damn love letter to the taste buds. And Jessica? She served it with the kind of care that made me feel like I was being personally fed by the chefs in the kitchen. Every time she came to check on me, she was like a warm, comforting presence that made me feel at home, even though I was in the middle of a damn food nirvana.
So here’s the deal: If you want a life-changing food experience, ask for Jessica at Treno Pizza Bar....
Read moreTreno just lost my business (and i take large parties here for work events bimonthly), and here’s why. We had a table of 9 for my wife’s birthday, and the service? Well, let’s just say it wasn’t a celebration.
I get that this isn’t a Michelin-star spot, but c’mon—there are basic standards any restaurant should hit. Our waitress? Clearly in over her head. She took our drink orders, then jumped straight to appetizers. But hey, why bother with drinks, right? So, the apps came out before the drinks. No silverware on the table, one or two plates for three appetizers. I ended up eating Brussels sprouts off a napkin using my son’s fork—because, why not?
By the time we finished appetizers, still no drinks, and our waters were bone dry with no refills in sight. Eventually, she asked if we wanted another round, but didn’t bother to take any of the empty glasses. Plates from apps? Still there. Plates from dinner? Yep, still there too. We finally just stacked our own dishes and slid them over to the next table, figuring they’d get better service than we were.
Now, before you think I’m here just to bash the waitress, let me be clear. Where was the manager? I used to work in hospitality, and when someone’s drowning on a busy night, the manager jumps in. Instead, she was left to sink.
And here’s the kicker: I asked for a birthday dessert with a candle for my wife at the beginning of the meal. Simple, right? Dinner ends, 20 minutes go by, and no dessert. I had to remind her twice. Meanwhile, my wife’s giving me that “Oh, thanks for forgetting my birthday” look. Do you know how it feels to sit there like a clown while everyone waits for a birthday dessert you ordered two hours ago? Brutal.
Treno, do better. This wasn’t just a bad night—it was a train wreck, and you’re not getting another chance.
Ps look at the photos, menus still on the table, a piece of cheese cake with no extra spoons. I Had to ask for the bill and instead of giving it to me who was at the head of the table and ordered dessert, it was handed to the assumed person who might be...
Read moreWe recently had a private surprise party here. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, service and food!!
To begin with Laura helped us with all the planning. She was always available (or promptly returned my calls) and answered any questions we had. She was professional and extremely helpful. On the day of the party everyone there was so accommodating and supportive! The staff was wonderful- the bartender and waitress assigned to us could not have been better!!
The room we had was perfect! It was a beautiful night and we were able to take pictures outside in the court yard. It was nicely kept and had cute little white lights that made for very nice photos. We were allowed to decorate the room but the basics of it were beautiful to begin with - very earthy and aesthetically pleasing.
The food was great! Laura arranged for the perfect flow of appetizers when the guests first arrived, to serving the main course and desserts.
One last comment which I was very impressed with: It was a surprise party and Laura made sure to come back and ask us how we were going to get the couple to the back room without giving away the surprise. She even went so far as to take a picture of the couple and show it to the hostess so they would know to expect them!
It was a very joyous occasion and a great experience only made better by Trenos!! Thanks to everyone!! I would highly recommend this place especially for...
