Brewers Towne Tavern — Restaurant in Haddon Township

Waitress asked half my party for "backup" IDs because some of us had perfectly legal probationary IDs that not only had been used at other bars that same night, but had been used at Brewers in the past.

Several members of my party had been to Brewers before and had never been hit with this question. I asked why and she looked at me and said, with ample attitude, "It's because these types of ID are the easiest to duplicate." It was clear she thought our IDs were fake, despite using a scanning device which told her we were all 21. I told her I'd never been asked for a "backup" ID before in my life, who even carries another form of ID that has their birth date on it? She said "It's company policy." Clearly that was a lie, because the other members of my party, who had been to Brewers before, had never been asked this ridiculous question.

I told her she could call the police and I'd happily wait for them to tell her all our IDs were real. The rest of my party was equally annoyed and were getting up to leave, so I demanded my ID back and told her that "policy" (doubt a single location dive bar even has a company policy) was ridiculous. She said "With that attitude you can go ahead and leave."

Highly over priced dive bar, atm fees because they don’t take cards~get with the times! 2 drinks a long island & 2 shots of Tito’s vodka $32!!! Waste of time & $$$!!! Even upscale places don’t rip you off this much!! Not to mention plastic 6oz drinks cups minus 2oz’s (so 4oz drinks) because they only fill alittle above halfway. Go anywhere else in a 20 mile radius & have a much better time! Regret coming by here! somewhere that’s clean, not tattered ripped chairs, trash mouth bar tender, Not Not your family or friendly nor clean neighborhood bar! This place compared to Speedys in Fairview, makes Speedy’s look like a diamond & I walked in there once and walked right out! If I could give this place a Negative -32 I would and never waste $ here again! 1st visit lesson learned! Also no parking lot so good luck & should be closed for not being handicap accessible! Shame on this place! I’ll stick with the much nicer establishments that charge the average fair price for drinks! First time at this place and let me just say I felt like I was in a freaking MOSH PIT, they do not consider social distancing at allllllllllll. This place is a nut house but in a good way hahah just a lot people and they should consider having a second bar area and/or more chairs or tables for inside. When I tell you I could not move I couldn’t move and I felt very claustrophobic. Also was very hot in there, and sort of pricey and they only take “cash” won’t be seeing me here again at night haha. They did have outside tables too which helps to get some fresh air after being trapped in that crowded place.
