I went to standard salon to get my hair cut and colored. My mom has been a client of Sal’s for about 7 years and had recommended I try his new salon. I booked a single process and mentioned to my colorist that I was interested in having the “money pieces” (the trendy face framing highlight) and she told me I hadn’t booked for that but ended up giving me a little bit of highlight anyways and said if I’d like to add more then I can make another appointment and she would do more next time. Then, I got my hair cut which I loved. The color looked great as well but after a few days I decided I wanted to have more highlight in the front. I called the salon to make the appointment and explained to them I wanted more highlight in the front, I also had been showing my colorist a photo of what I wanted all along. When I came in for the second time it felt rushed, as if they had “squeezed” me in to do me a favor. I never needed a favor I just wanted to add more highlight in the front, no time constraints. Anyways, I left the salon that day with wet hair and once it dried it actually came up darker, not with more highlight. To be clear, I was not looking for more highlights just the front face framing pieces to cover more area of my hair which I thought was clearly shown in the photo. I called the salon again and they had said to give it a few more washes and see if it comes up more and if it doesn’t they will just give me a refund (not offering to just fix it). It didn’t show up more after washing so I called the salon about a week after the appointment to let them know (as I was told to do). The receptionist told me I would have to make another $100+ appointment for highlights to which I responded that’s a bit absurd (I already had spent well over $200 at the salon for a single process, two singular highlights, and a haircut.) the receptionist told me she would have Stephanie (my colorist) call me. She never did call me, it’s been about three weeks now. Needless to say, my hair was never the way I wanted it and I was annoyed because I paid good money to get the hair I was looking to have. If she couldn’t do it I wish she would’ve just said that in the first place especially after seeing a photo of exactly what I was looking for. I spent $310 (including tips, etc.) at the salon and since they didn’t contact me I did my hair myself which was much less money and I love it. In regard to their response, if I were offered a refund I would’ve taken it but as I stated above, I never received a call. The attached pictures show what I got versus the picture I showed my colorist, so regardless of the terms used, the photo clearly shows what I wanted. PS. I really love my hair cut!!!! That...
Read moreI have been going to Standard for about a year now and every experience is wonderful. Sal cuts my hair and he is extremely knowledgeable, professional, and kind. The place is clean, safe, and just a positive environment. All staff are so helpful and the customer service is always excellent. One of the first things Sal did was ask what I liked and didn’t like about my hair/current cut. And honestly nobody had ever asked me that, so immediately I was impressed. He then started addressing my concerns by recommending ways to dry my hair, specific kinds of shampoos or sprays I could use, and made other suggestions while cutting my hair. He was charismatic but calm at the same time which is very refreshing. I cannot...
