I’ve only ever had good experiences here at Gass and Main! Every time I come here the menu has changes and there’s always something new to try. I used to be a vegetarian and was (as most people are) obsessed with the gnocchi mac and cheese. That’s my favorite food and it’s by far been the best mac I’ve had ANYWHERE.
Tonight I only tried new things off of their menu since I haven’t been there in a while. We had the cheese ball, which they’re always switching up the toppings for so we get it every time. As well as the artichoke cake and the hand pies, and the bang-bang asparagus. My fiancé got the mixed grill florentine. And of course we had to take a dessert home regardless of how full we were, so we got the cannoli. All to die for.
I don’t even have words for the way the flavors all seem to just blend perfectly. As a pretty picky eater, this is the one place I will try anything at least once and try to get the fullest experience of the dish.
The staff here is amazing. The servers are so knowledgeable on the menu and give their own recommendations. The owner is a huge part of production every time I’ve ever been in, running the show, but being as helpful as possible and involved in the running of food, expo, and hosting. They seem to be a great leader and boss and everyone works as a team which is important in a smaller place.
The people, food, and atmosphere are the highest of quality. This place is a hidden gem and always worth every penny, definitely make a reservation and give everything on the menu the chance to...
Read moreWent to Gass & Main on a Thursday night around 7pm. It's a small place that does unique takes on familiar foods. Had quite a meal.
Appetizers were gnocchi mac & cheese, wagyu hot dog, and tuna hoagie tartare. The gnocchi was incredible in texture, dense and pillowy, while the mornay sauce was incredibly rich. The hot dog had a nice crisp to the casing and the savory-ness of the wagyu was cut by the heat of the mustard and acidity of the pickled vegetables on top. The tuna hoagie tartare was a deconstructed hoagie with tuna tartare, crispy chorizo, romaine, and seasonings meant to be a topper for the crispy baguette chips.
For entrees, I got the roasted peach confit duck, whilemy girlfriend got the ribeye. The roasted peach confit duck was served on top of a creamy polenta, and when eaten with a piece of the tender duck and peaches, it was quite an experience of savory, salty, and sweet flavors, with a hint of roast. The ribeye was served on top of Yukon gold potatoes, and whipped feta. The combo of the tender seasoned steak with the tangy whipped feta made me go "wow." The duck was great, but the ribeye was special.
We finished with a warm chocolate chip cookie pie topped with chocolate shelled vanilla ice cream, and lightly toasted marshmallow. It was good, but it didn't stand out as particularly unique or impressive in quality.
The service was incredible, our waiter was very attentive. We sat outside which has a charm to it, next time we'll try the inside.
I definitely want to come back in the fall to see what the...
Read moreI was invited to the restaurant for a celebratory dinner. I did a quick peek at their menu because I'm vegan and wanted to see ahead if there was anything that my hubby and I could eat.
I saw some options and was eager to try them.
When my husband and I arrived, we looked through the door and saw the kitchen. I stepped in and was in the kitchen. I laughed because I thought I went in through the wrong door. Apparently, that is how you enter.
It was honestly refreshing to see what the kitchen was like and to briefly watch how the food was prepared. I also love their tile floor!
We joined our party and were immediately greeted by our server who introduced himself. He asked if there were any dietary restrictions or allergies. I told him that we were vegan and he said that we were in the best place. He told us that the menu changes every season and that there is always a vegan option.
We started with the brussel chips which were absolutely delicious. My husband and I got the artichoke cake which was AMAZING!
For dessert, we had the s'mores pie, which was also vegan! Sheer perfection!
I loved the atmosphere, which was very quaint. At the end, we decided to take a group photo and asked another server, who was a cute tattooed redhead (I forgot your name - sorry!) who said she was a photographer. She made sure that we were all posing perfectly for the photo! She even cleared the table to make sure that there were no dirty dishes in the photo!
I will definitely be returning for some more...
