As an avid lover of Animo Juice, I hate to be writing this review. Growing up in Haddonfield, Animo was always a fun healthy place to try new combinations of burritos, soups, and juices. It draws in so many people such as Carson Wentz, Joe Flacco, etc. When the store moved to the other side of Kings Hwy I had first thought it would be a wonderful business idea (as there is more traffic on this side). They revamped their menu, and adapted a new up to date feng shui. Their booming business gave us all the impression that with its new location, the store would be getting even better.
Unfortunately, things only seemed to go the opposite. The first mistake of Animo was taking away their staple chalk board menu. As someone who manages multiple food industry businesses, taking out a staple to your restaurant or any establishment is a very risky move; one that should be replaced with an even better idea. Something they have failed very much to do. For a store that is supposed to promote "health, wellness, balance, and happiness", the workers are severely lacking on all. I'm not a person to talk about physical/mental appearance in the sense of race, gender, etc. However, I do believe that your employees should represent your mantra/business and look presentable at work, regardless of the field they work in. Most of the employees here seem as if they'd rather be anywhere else. It's a quick "what's your order?", pay, and then on to the next person in line. Rarely do they ever spark up conversation, or even look up at you to make eye contact. On many occasions the soup is cold and oily, the burritos are very poorly wrapped, spilled juice on the cups is never wiped off, and something is always missing.
I wish that the owners of Animo in Haddonfield would take this review into consideration and think about changing the management and direction of the store. I'm not sure if because of their Animo in Philadelphia that the Haddonfield location has been set on the back burner or not, but I do believe that they should be run with equal attention. I love Animo, and have for many years, all I am asking is to bring back the old animo feeling of balance, health,...
Read moreI've been a customer for MANY years at Animo Haddonfield. There have been a few times in the past when I've experienced issues...but have never once complained. The interaction that I had with a staff member this past Sunday (8/2) needs to be brought to the attention of management, Joe & Anthony. I went in at 3:30pm and ordered a Border Salad w/chicken ($12.30) for sit-down (not take out). As the staff member was making my salad, I noticed that she was preparing it in a plastic to-go container. I mentioned to her that I was eating the salad at Animo (not taking it to go). She replied that "Animo was closing in 20-25 minutes and we do not want to dirty another bowl/dish". She then said that I was "welcome to sit down and eat the salad in the plastic container". I was so taken back by her response that I "almost" asked for my money back. How do you charge $12.30 and for a salad and then tell a customer that you'll be closing in 20 minutes and don't want to dirty any more bowls/dishes? Your staff needs some serious re-training if this is the way you treat your customers. As I mentioned, I've been supporting Animo for many years and love the food. However, this last interaction has really made me re-consider which local businesses I support. PS: Some of your staff members are really great people (many of which I've had nice conversations with over the years). However, there are a couple that have a really bad/negative attitude and have no problem with letting it come out in front of/directly to...
Read moreI've been a loyal customer of Animo Juice (and everyone I know loved them too), frequently ordering food here and one of the things I really love from them is their soup. So I emailed them to ask when they were getting soup and I was told they were going to try again on Monday. Which I was excited about and come Monday, I went to place an order for soup through Grubhub. It gave me an error message and said that This restaurant can't complete orders right now. Please try again later or choose another restaurant. so I thought I'd call Animo and let them know something was wrong with their ordering system through Grubhub. The person who answered said that it was probably something I was ordering was out of stock (it was not because I tested it after the phone call and added a salad and it still gave me that error) and when I told her it was soup, she said that in order to fix it they would have to call Grubhub and that would be too much of a hassle. I then asked if I could add something else of equal value and say I wanted soup instead, and they said no.
Like I said, after that rude call (I've never had a restaurant tell me they'd rather leave something broken than call Grubhub care), I added something other than soup and got the same error. I guess Animo...
