AT&T Store — Local services in Hagerstown

I wish I could give this authorized retailer less than one star. My boyfriend and I went to this location to move his number from a existing AT&T line to my AT&T plan. We had no intentions of doing anything else. The manager Brooke amongst conversation did inform us that if he traded in his iPhone 7, got a new number he could get a $700 credit which would cover the full cost of the iPhone 11. As we thought this was a great deal with went ahead with it and spent most of our day at the store to get everything situated. The next weekend we needed to upgrade my brothers phone so we went to the garland groth Blvd location since they opened sooner. We had told the assistance manager at that store what we had previously did and he informed us that we were misinformed and we would not be receiving the monthly credits to make this phone free, we did not have to take a new number etc. My family and I have done service with AT&T for over 20 years and I have never felt more misinformed and frustrated with a place I conduct business with. I have even consider switching providers due to this situation. From my experience at both location I have learned it is best to go to a corporate location. Although it is also frustrating that AT&T authorizes retailers and cooperate stores cannot work and communicate...

The store manager, John was absolutely unprofessional in helping me. In fact, he mocked the iPhone 16 I just purchased from his store a week and a half prior. My cellular data wasn’t working so instead of helping, he just trash talked my product! A MANAGER! It doesn’t stop there! When I questioned why he wasn’t helping me, yet trash talking my phone, he told me to leave and he’ll mark me for trespassing! So if you want to be mocked and threatened, John’s your guy! I would never recommend John’s store!!!

Edit: it’s over a week later and only a generic message on Google review and a general email in an attempt to reach John’s superior. I reached out to the email included in this review response and received absolutely no response. Very disappointing that such behavior and actions by your manager is acceptable. Very shocked!

Do not go to this store! Save yourself the trip and go to a corporate owned store like beside walmart. They give out incorrect information and when you confront them on it they state my employees would have never said that, that doesn't make sense. I'm sorry but the $160.00 that i've just wasted being in pre paid plans that are horrible and have less features don't make sense. Maybe your reps should listen to what your customers need and fully explain all of the services to them. Or better yet maybe they should get fully trained on what the services are because the corporate store couldn't believe what i've been through and fixed issue in under 10 minutes. Bottom line don't get prepaid if you need personal hotspot...
