Buyer beware, the food is tasty but the service can be slow and/or rude.
This is the type of place where you order, pay, and then sit down.
We arrived to the restaurant some time after 9:30 am on Sunday after thanksgiving. The dining room was reletively empty. My in-laws ordered 2 breakfast plates and 2 waffles. My partner and I ordered 2 coffees, 2 orders of fried eggs and 2 oatmeal pancakes. My in-laws receieved their all their food first and in a timely manner.
Our eggs arrived soon after, but no pancakes. While waiting for the pancakes we noticed tables that sat down after us received their huge plates of food already. We had to inquire about the pancakes two times - The first time, they told us it was being made “right now”. We waited about 10 minutes before asking again and was rudly told to wait, we pointed out that our eggs came out first and were getting cold, it was not unreasonable to ask where the pancakes are, and that no one has come to check in on us (coffee refills). The manager then responded with, “if you do not want your eggs to be cold, then I suggest you eat them”. We told her that comment was not a great response. I think the manager needed a minute to calm down b/c she did come by our table asked if we wanted more coffee and took away our cold eggs to replace with fresh ones, and apologized for the wait. We did finally received our pancakes (20-30 minutes after getting the eggs the first time).
She never apologized for the condescending response about our eggs.
I have dined here before and I know that the service is a little slow, but the food usually makes it...
Read moreI visited Mavericks Creperie for the first time on Saturday morning for breakfast, as a recommendation from the folks at Seahorse Ranch, and it was FANTASTIC! I consider myself a breakfast connoisseur and it’s rare for a breakfast place to earn five (5) stars from me because I’m such a picky breakfast sycophant! As you can see from the pictures, Mavericks Creperie really does breakfast well. From the outside, Mavericks is unassuming because it sits in a strip mall. The restaurant is quaint with adequate seating. While I was there, I saw the restaurant accommodate parties as small as two (2) and as large as seven (7). Mavericks is a family run business and the customer service was fantastic. Everyone there was friendly, kind, and genuine in their desire to assist customers. Now, let’s get to the good stuff, the food. My absolute favorite dish was the original pancakes. They were so LIGHT, FLUFFY, and AIRY. These pancakes were thick and made with love. I also got the Baja Omelette with egg whites (which I substituted at no extra cost), and it was also amazing. My wife ordered the French toast with bacon and potatoes, which, you guessed it, was also fantastic. Mavericks is GENEROUS with their portions and it’s really worth the money. I can’t wait...
Read moreSuper fresh salads, great burgers, and sandwiches! My husband and I have stopped here twice after hiking and both times the food has been fresh, of good quality, and tasty. My husband ordered the good size burger twice and enjoyed it both times. He said he would prefer a tad more seasoning but otherwise yummy. I ordered the tuna sandwich which comes with avocado and love that the use of mayo is light and that the avocado is really fresh. It's nice to have a tuna sandwich where you actually taste tuna versus dripping in mayo; plus it's healthier. The excellent bread was lightly toasted which gave the sandwich some texture. The first time we were there the fries were off the chart crispy and well seasoned...my husband said some of the best fries he's had. Second time they weren't as crispy but he says they were still good. The lettuces used were both really really fresh and the dressing is excellent. Whoever is sourcing the lettuces is doing a great job. We got our food to go but they have some outdoor seating in front of the restaurant in a covered tent if you wish...
