Michaels — Local services in Hamilton Township

Not sure if I’ve ever experienced ruder workers then at the Michael’s Mays Landing location. I go to check out, and the African American girl checking me out was saying that she thinks the basket I tried purchasing was a display basket so I couldn’t get it, and she asked a worker named Ryan walking by and he said verbatim “it’s display you can’t get it” and kept walking … like no sorry just condescending tone. So I check out and put my cart to the side RIGHT NEXT to the girl that checked me out, and went to go look for another basket. I ended up asking another worker if she could kindly ask the manager on her ear piece if it’s a big deal to just have the crappy $2 falling apart basket if I can’t pay for it, and low and behold, the manager is the same guy Ryan with the attitude, and proceeds to go “it’s display you can’t have it” SO the issue isn’t about the basket, the issue is that Michael’s hires managers that have zero idea how to be in customer service at all, why not I apologize mam but…. Why not any compassion, even if you say no? So THEN I go to get my cart at the front where I left my $200 worth of items, and the African American girl tries to accuse me of stealing the things that SHEEE just rung ME up for!! I literally said “you just rung me up yourself and told me to go get another basket, mind you, she’s ringing a couple up that is looking at me like I’m now a thief. You really can’t get more ignorant and idiotic than ringing someone up and then accuse them of stealing...

Well, let me tell you about my visit to Michael's!! It was WONDERFUL! I was rather frantic because I was trying to find a container to hold articles for a man's spa basket. There I met the most wonderful store clerk who turned what might have been a 2 hour search into approximately a 20 minute pleasant search for EVERYTHING I needed!!!! Her name is LINDA!! And let me tell you that Linda was on point! She was pleasant, efficient, and well aware of where everything was in the store. Linda even made sure a got "good stuff" that was at sale price! Just can't say enough about how wonderful Linda made my visit!! And because of her I will surely be coming back for any, and all of my craft needs!! THANKS SO MUCH LINDA. I'm also nominating Linda for your person of the year...

I have always liked a jaunt through Michaels...even if I am not looking for anything in particular. Still, I always seem to find bargains and leave with something! This time, I went in particularly to find decorative hat boxes...round or square. I have always been able to find them here. Surprisingly (after searching the shelves for a while), I was told that Michael's no longer carries these boxes, and if they do, it would only be at the holidays! I was very disappointed.
