The reason I am giving such a low rating is that, during this particular visit to the Mays Landing Target, I was barely assisted by an employee. The reason why I use the word "barley" is because when I walked up to the Guest Services Desk to retrieve my online order, three associates were standing there, one was helping another woman and the other two were just standing there talking. After waiting my turn in line, I was waiting for one of the three associates to greet me which did not happen. Two of the associates walked right by me when the other guest left the line, they did not ask if I needed help, say hello, or anything; I was completely ignored. Standing there looking like an idiot, I decided to speak up myself because clearly, nobody cared to even notice that they had a paying customer standing right in front of them. After I said "hello, I have an online order..." and as I had my phone out and ready, still the associates did not acknowledge me AT ALL. They spoke amongst themselves, one said to the other, "ugh, I'm busy, you got this?" him referring to helping me with my online pickup. I was stunned. While the one associate left, the other stood there looking down at his hand-held scanner refusing to make eye contact with me as if I was dealing with a robot. I had my phone ready with the bar code on the app sitting there on the counter, standing there extremely uncomfortable as if I was a burden to the associate's life as if he wasn't getting paid an hourly wage. I do believe he was a shift manager as well because he had a different name tag than the other associates but I could be wrong. Anyway, finally, he scanned my bar code and walked away from me as I said "thank you" he continued to lack eye contact and turned his back toward me to go retrieve my order. This has never in my 27-year history of shopping at Target happened to me, EVER. The funny thing is, it wasn't even busy. They were all just standing there when I walked up, besides the one who was helping the other lady. I am just appalled because of the amount of disrespect I was shown during that trip. I have never been treated this poorly anywhere in my life,...
Read moreI know it’s a big box store and they don’t care in general about customer service but I’ve really reached a breaking point with this store. Today, we went to checkout with a toy that was listed for $14.99, normally $29.99. The toy rang up full price. We told the cashier it was listed in the back for the sale price and she called over whoever was the front end supervisor. The supervisor scanned it herself and said “It’s 29.99” really gruffly. She sent a young associate back to look at the item and they told the supervisor it was full price. We literally looked up the description of the tag and it matched the item to a tee. Lets not even mention the fact that this store has little to zero invested in their recovery throughout the day so the toy section was bombed in general but we took the time to make sure this was the right item to avoid issues like this. The front end LOD just said “It’s 29.99 do you want it or not?” We started to pitch our case again and I was even willing to walk back and show her where the spot was but she just walked away from us and loudly stated on the radio “They don’t want the toy. Put it back”
This is just ridiculous customer service. From the disingenuous and dismissive nature of the front end staff to the lack of details throughout the store, it’s an unacceptable way to run a store. It may very well have been that a younger or more unmotivated member of the tagging team put the sales tag in the wrong spot but the way the error was handled says a lot about the effort and initiative that surrounds the storefront. It could have been remedied with a second look and a more understanding attitude but instead we were met an attitude that said “You’re wrong, you want it or not?”
Won’t be back here to shop anymore. There’s a million places fighting for your money right now and it’s worth it to shop somewhere with people that care about...
Read moreI have been going to this target my entire life. Not only was it possibly the worst experience of my entire life but the customer service from everyone who I came in contact with yesterday was awful. I had been gifted a lunch box and wanted to return it. I wait in the return and exchange line yesterday around 12:30 in the afternoon for about 15 minutes, and get up to the front with another lunch box that I wanted to do an exchange. I had the lunch box I wanted and the one I was returning. I told the rude woman at the counter, that I was returning the Lunch box and exchanging it for the other one I had in my hand. She rings me up for a gift card and tells me I have to go into the check out line, or even self check out line to exchange it. Does that make any sense? She could have done it for me right there in the RETURN AND EXCHANGE LINE. Instead. She walked away without even giving me a chance to ask her if she can ring it out. So then I Ask the other woman at the counter who replaced her if she could give me that other woman’s name. She refused saying she “felt uncomfortable” giving me the woman’s name especially if it was for a complaint. I’m sorry but that’s a little ridiculous. She continued to tell me she felt uncomfortable, she felt uncomfortable. So I went up to the supervisor who was standing by self check out which also had a 30 minute long line. The supervisor told me she would be right back.. she never came back and honestly after that she completely ignored me. I couldn’t get anyone’s name to even call and complain. Worst experience. Don’t go. There is never anyone to help you and if you do need help they forget about you...
