Iâve been eating at Sakuras for 10 years and have NEVER been treated like the way I have tonight! Today is my Angel for a motherâs birthday! She loves Sakuras and chose to eat there. Our waitress, I believe her name was Francesca, was nice and pleasant. However, Our chef was rude and needs to reconsider his act. He goes around and pours everyone yum yum sauce and when he gets to my mom, because she took too long to answer he says âahhh no too late!â And doesnât give her any. And everyone seated at the table laughs because we know all the chefs like to joke around but he was serious and never poured her any sauce. My sister says jokingly âyou better be nice to my mom, itâs her birthday so sheâs the special ladyâ. The chef (who I believe his name is Mesh or Besh), says âI donât care!â. And we all kinda of gasped but still tried to give him the benefit of the doubt that this was apart of his show. So a few seconds later he takes the spatula and cocks back his arm and acts like his going to slap my mother with it!!!!! And tried to act like it was funny!!! I was livid! And we only stayed because my mother, being the sweet, Godly, and understanding person she is, didnât let it bother her and wanted to stay and continue the meal. The chef was super dry and underwhelming the entire time. Once the chef was done cooking my mother asked for more sauce and he dropped the bottle on the table in front of her and made her pour it for herself! I asked to speak to the manager. This was no help because all she kept doing was justifying his actions! She said she was sorry and she would talk to him but itâs apart of his show and most people think itâs funny. She said that kids love the spatula trick because they jump back and get scared. I said âkeyword: kids! My mother is a grown women and his a grown man acting like his going to hit a woman! He really needs to reconsider that because that will not go over well with most adults! And Iâm not sure how I would feel if he did that to my child either! Also, I was raised to respect my elders and honor my parents and I felt like he disrespected my mother several times and I know he wouldnât be ok with someone disrespecting his parents! He needs to learn how to read a room or find a different way to be funny!â But all in all the food was good but the chef ruined the night and ruined the atmosphere. I will...
Read moreNever in my life have I had an experience like tonight. I ordered the sushi sashimi combo. Presentation was gorgeous. As I was eating I noticed something odd on my tuna. There was half an insect with legs, antennas and all attached to it(roach) about the size of a quarter. Being someone who has worked in the restaurant industry for years I didnât create a scene. I calmly notified our server who then showed the sushi chefs and they acknowledged the insect and immediately apologized. As you can imagine we couldnât eat the rest of our meal. Our server then brought out dessert on the house which was a nice gesture however we werenât hungry. I received the bill and to my surprise we were charged for the entire meal. I brought the bill to the manager and she was aware of the situation but told me I still had to pay for the entire meal. Long story short, I still tipped our server 20% of the entire bill because it wasnât his fault. I offered to pay for our 2 cocktails but didnât think it was fair to pay for a meal with a roach that i didnât even eat. The manager was beyond rude and and gave me attitude when my demeanor was nothing but relaxed. I could of cleared out the entire restaurant, instead I left the restaurant, threw up then Called Amex to explain my horror story. Itâs a shame because if I created a scene I probably would have been treated better. Instead I was nice and got taken advantage...
Read moreThis is the first bad review so far I've had to give a place. Atmosphere: Bad. Eight of us in our late lunch party. Seated around that style table made talking to my friends almost impossible. Price: Ridiculously high for what we got. Read on... Food: Everything sounded good on the menu (see menu pics attached) but.... Salad was wilted, shrimp were rubbery, fish was just off, the rice was instant minute rice and was not good, their so-called special sauce was ketchup and mayonnaise - Big Mac sauce is better - the NY strip steak was grisly and not cooked to order. Drinks: They advertise an assortment of specialty "Asian" cocktails, all of which are mostly pineapple or some other fruit juice, we were told they did not have the ingredients to make a Rob Roy, it's scotch & vermouth, come on. Staff: Not so friendly.
The whole experience was lousy for 7 out of 8 of us. One girl said she thought it was fun even though she never saw the mussels she ordered.
We have a book club lunch at a restaurant once month. A few places we visit again and again. This was the first time and definitely the last time for Sakura's. Do yourself a favor and avoid a miserable dining experience. Do not eat...
