Susan's General Store — Local services in Hammond

Call to see if they have an item as she answers I said hello how are you doing she replys who is this. I reply back with um a customer that would like to see if you have an item in she tells me like what I reply with glob mops a q tip you clean concentrates up with she said no we don't have anything like that and hangs up now for a business you should not answer a phone like that and def don't greet and talk to your customers likes that and the hanging up in my face part is a no no so that is why you get no stars from Me I'm from Hammond and born and raised 32 years old and never heard bad things about this store but today you lost my business the only reason you got 1 star from Me is because I wanted to leave a review and let everyone know how...

I've been a regular of Susan's General Store since '95 (when I first moved to Hammond). I've never lived more than a few blocks away, and visiting the store is always a blast.

I shop here for collectables and classic brass and glass pipe gear, and I come here for hand made craft products for gifts. Heck, I think my wedding ring came from Susan's, hah!

Susan and her staff are simply the best people... it's very easy to lose yourself in conversation when you're here!

Calm, quiet, leisurely shopping visit. The young woman on staff offered me a free coffee with cream and sugar 🥰. News to me, they sell coffee beans and grind them up for you. The coffee was good btw lol. Clean shop. Whimsical feel. Garden accessories, garden flags, occult items, incense, soap, lavatory mist, scented candles, jewelry, crystals, and gemstones.
