Michaels — Local services in Hampton

I have written one review prior to this review and it was for a similar experience of kindness and empathy. Today, I took my two year old daughter to get some supplies for projects while my wife had our three year old at gymnastics. As a relatively inexperienced "solo venture father", I still get nervous that something will happen when I have one of the girls out on my own... and something happened today. My daughter, who was acting completely normal, suddenly began vomiting EVERYWHERE while sitting in the cart seat. I was panicked and scared for my daughter. Although three wonderful employees came to my aid, a manager named Ashley was amazing in her willingness to help in that moment. I was mortified by the mess we had created but she nonchalantly said, "It's not a problem at all... I used to work at a daycare and it doesn't bother me" as she held the trash bag for me to throw vomit paper towels into. She even went to grab a t-shirt that had been left over from a store painting event so I didn't have to take my daughter home in her soiled clothes. I know I said thank several times in my haste, but I wanted to say it again. Thank you for helping my daughter and a father who may have never taken his girls out again alone. I am truly grateful for your kindness. It's encouraging to know that there are still caring people that go above the expectations of their position to help others. Edward in framing was just the absolute best. He was extremely patient and gave magnificent feedback when I was trying to frame my digital photography for my 1st photography showing at The Art Institute in Va Beach. I was on a serious time crunch as I’d just gotten an invite to add my work to “The Garden Party“ the previous night when I’d attended an Art Talk at Art Central Phebous and had to submit my entry before 3pm 5/9/23. Edward shared his thoughts as we changed the frames from style color cost and professionalism. Making my pieces gallery ready!! My Art/ Photography was POPPING!! I even got asked several times as I was going to check out if my photography was an advertisement for the frame 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽. During the Halloween season I will frequent Michael's, or Joanne's fabric because I will make costumes for my kids. I have always been a big fan of Michael's for their variety and supplies which are usually in stock. They used to offer 40% off coupons which always helps cuz their prices are a little high. But not any more. I tried to get them to take a competitors coupon and rather than be kind about the new policy I got my head bit off by the cashier who was appalled that I would even consider the thought. I understand we are in a pandemic, and life kinda sucks for everyone, but lady you have a job which is more than most can say due to unemployment. And I'm not trying to cause a problem, cuz I wanted to save a buck. To the Michael's cashier: I'm sorry too many crazed crafters bit your head off about not being able to coupon match. I hope your life improves so you don't suck the joy out of everyone you meet. It's going to be ok. This pandemic will not be forever!...
