UPDATED REVIEW
I found out a couple days later from other active duty service members that this hospital is what they describe as "horrible." They didn't say which department but in general, and just stating in the conversation I had with active duty military members saying "what hospital is this? Oh Adventist Health, we heard so many bad things about that hospital and told us not to go there." Not to go there when this hospital is close to the base? Can you imagine military members being told to go to another hospital to get quality patient care??? Then, how is this hospital still standing and operating? Just because some healthcare professionals are nice and a few actually knows their job do not mean the hospital is 5 stars. Rate the hospital wisely and choose wisely because this is how the hospital learn their lesson and make changes. If you have complaints, make sure you actually FILE THE COMPLAINTS to save yourself and others (maybe your loved ones later on). Be your own advocate and do something about it, not just complain. Just one of my rights to give an honest review. Know YOUR RIGHTS (Patients Rights) people and do something about it to fix this hospital's problem. I was told that another hospital had many complaints and ACTUALLY fixed their problem, so this hospital needs to do that. Why do I need to email to talk about this issue when there's a phone number, and also too late because the other hospital already took care of me. How about you talk to YOUR staff instead to do what's right so they prevent doing harm to patients.
Previous Review: The ER sent me away after coming in for abdominal pain and bleeding. The rest is personal and i didn't even know at that time who was I talking to since the PA didn't even introduce herself. I found out her name 2 days later when they called to follow up. The PA said she could order the ultrasound and hcg level but I already had those done before I came to the ER. All they did was vital signs and interview that seemed like an interrogation because she's implying for me to leave. They did not do anything at all and I left without answer. I went to another ER 2 days later because symptoms started again and worse this time. Can you imagine this other ER did everything they could just to rule out the worst. Well, that's a huge difference in knowledge of the Adventist Health ER staff versus the other ER. Adventist Health isn't really following their mission "Living in God's love..."...
Read moreThe medical staff was nice but the wait time was horrible. I was there waiting over 6 hours feeling horrible. They ran tests ekg, chest xray, blood and urine) but lost my urine sample. I went in with chest and back pain and have been lightheaded and weak in legs. I also have trouble when I eat anything, even small amounts. When the Dr was finally ready to see me after asking if my tests results were done twice ( thats when I found out that they couldn't find my urine results ) he was nice but really didn't go over my ekg, or chest x-rays. And very slightly when over my other labs. I was too exhausted by that time that didn't think see a copy of those results. I was told everything looked fairly good except my blood pressure. When I got home and looked at my discharge papers I saw they put down Anxiety as primary reason. Yes I was Anxious because of the symptoms I was and still am experiencing and yes I have Anxiety because of things I've gone through in the recent years. However, I'm having symptoms that I've never had before that occur even when I'm not anxious. I called back to today 4 times to try to get the results from radiology tests and finally talked to a different Dr that was kind and she went over some things with me. But I still have concerns. I feel like no one is really taking my symptoms seriously, which is scary for me. They said I could come back in but after the last visit I'm like no thanks. So I'd say waiting over 6 hours in a room full of people was not pleasant and although the staff was nice, I didn't really feel heard or the things I'm dealing with physically taken that seriously. I'm still dealing with the same scary symptoms.
Also, The waiting room had rowdy kids there playing loud videos games and no one said anything to the kids, not the parents or staff, but yet I had to make a call over by the non working pay phones and was told I couldn't use the speaker on my phone even at a low level.
Unfortunately, several people have said to me don't go to Adventist unless you want to die. That's from many people around this area. They said go to Kaweah in Visalia instead. Not a very good testimony to the medical care at...
Read moreEmergency room visits aren’t fun and I don’t expect speedy service, but since I arrived in an ambulance, I thought I might have received assistance in the form of pain medication before the four hour mark. My visit took over five hours. I was in a gurney in the hallway for the duration and was told until I had a slot in an emergency “room” they couldn’t give any pain meds. My daughter was in the waiting room repeatedly asking if she could be with me since I am hard of hearing and sometimes get confused. She was finally allowed back after four hours when I had just received intravenous medication. I did have an X-ray taken of my arm and it was confirmed I fractured my humerus just below the ball and socket joint. I was also given an ice pack for my shoulder. I complained about my wrist and was told not to use my hand. At the five hour mark I was released and referred to call an orthopedic surgeon for an appointment on Tuesday. This was on Sunday evening. I was told a pain prescription was sent to CVS, but since they were closed I wouldn’t be able to pick it up until Monday. Today I found out that 1. The medication I was prescribed isn’t available and 2. Even if it was available, it can’t be paid for in cash but instead needs to go thru insurance. The Adventist team was aware I was a Kaiser patient yet they still prescribed medication that they should have known I wouldn’t be able to access. The staff seemed kind. As an FYI, my daughter drove me to Kaiser Emergency in Fresno as soon as we left Adventist Health. Kaiser listened to complaints about my wrist and took more X-rays and found that my wrist was broken also. I left Kaiser with a fiberglass splint on my wrist which has helped quite a bit with my pain. Regarding pain medication, Kaiser wouldn’t prescribe more since I had a prescription waiting from Adventist, which I now know is invalid to me as a non...
