I've stayed at the Sequoia Inn every weekend on business since June 2019 with my LAST stay last night. ||Why? First, they advertise as being renovated, but every room has stains all over the carpet, with the worst being the last room we were in, lots of mystery stains by the bed, disgusting. I had to put a towel over it so I wouldn't be stepping on it when I got out of the bed. The lamp shade was ripped and torn in our last room and usually the showers had black mold, but I did observe they finally took care of that. ||||Another observation. Every time we have stayed, there are always so many people at the pool...nothing odd about that, right? ....but these folks all seemed to know each other. Every time. They have lots of food, rafts, and music going. Odd that so many hotel guests all seemed to be family or friends. Hmmmm.. ||||Usually our stays were okay, with little noise, an occasional barking dog in the room across the hall, and the old air conditioners whine and grind. Nothing major. ||However, last night, we were treated to heavy stomping and screaming, which sounded like a brawl in the hallway around midnight. I noticed there was a really rowdy crowd at the pool that day ( all the hotel guests who "knew" each other) Wondered if it was them. Woke up my husband, who is basically deaf, it was that bad. ||We didn't complain, but in the morning I mentioned it to the front desk person, and she basically said "Someone else had complained, and the night person went up there and didn't hear anything after 10 minutes of waiting, so..." As if to imply it didn't happen. No apology, nothing, she just looked at me with a cold, flat stare. She was by far the worst front desk person, the others we came into contact with were always very, very nice and accommodating. I have nothing to say negative about them. ||However, since I was a loyal customer for so long, and was treated with such disdain when a crediable complaint came up, and because of the questionable guests and dirty rooms, I have had enough and won't be going back. Found some excellent...
Read moreSo, we like hotels with good and quiet room AC, comfortable beds/ good linens and low disturbance surroundings us. Scored perfectly on that metric. stars are based on that metric. We checked in at about 9:30 pm and out at 6:30 am. Elevator was hinky but fine, soda and ice machine fine. Continental breakfast not so much. Coffee machine says it’s not working-staff “oh it does that, you can still get coffee out of it” me-ok. Choices of solid food were sparse but powered us to the meet. The remodel was definitely done but was selective. Place smells of new paint and carpet install. So new, right? Couple carpet stains in our bedroom area but only if ya look. Our newish tiled shower had grout issues-room 215 and the floor tile looked like someone had regularly worn soil encrusted boots and degraded the surface and grout. Didn’t seem dirty but seemed worn already. Maybe an early rehab phase-idk. The bedroom area was kind of a built in situation to be contemporary and was fine. But when people have multiple devices a remodel should include outlets. Hard to find one that wasn’t loose. We bring a multiple usb charger so just had to find that one hiding in the room. There was an android charger set up on the alarm clock-and two usbs on the lamp but we needed five so…also fridge was cold, tv was solid if not limited in choice. ||For the price which was $121 it was a value. Pretty clean except the tile issues. Oh and both the sink and shower faucets are backwards so counterclockwise starting with hot as hades to about 1 o’clock for the right cold/hit mix-caves upside down? I think I saw someone else review about that one. ||Next time we’re in Hanford we’ll stay here again as long as all things are equal still. ||If I was on business I’d have reviewed the ancillary things because I’d have stayed longer but quick in and out(one is nearby too) it was a...
Read moreI chose this hotel because I have a small dog & needed to visit my sick mom. We arrived at 9 pm on a Thursday Oct 15 & as soon as we arrived after traveling 4 hrs our dog needed to go to potty but sprinklers were on and grass was sitting in 2 inches of water. We get to our room and its disgusting, carpets are all stained bottom platform of bed is falling apart, sheets are worn and old, furniture has obvious dog chewed corners with holes in the chair. I wipe everything down with my cleaning products afraid that rooms have definitely not been cleaned for Covid. We even brought in towels & old blanket to use on floor & keep our shoes on. We thought about trying to find another hotel but it was late & we had a dog. The next morning I get up at 5am to take out our dog & again the sprinklers are on & grass is flooded. When I try to go back into the hotel the front door is locked & key card won't open so I buzz & nobody comes, so I wait. Eventually someone comes to the desk & opens the door. I go to the desk & ask for a refund for my $50 pet fee because of the filthy room & she first says no & then says she will look into it. It was never credited & this was honestly the worst hotel Ive stayed at. Ive stayed at really nice hotels that don't charge that high of a pet fee. This was definitely a pet room and not acceptable for...
