Decided to write a review after visiting this place for what would be maybe 4 years. I haven't visited since the COVID impact started, so these are my experiences prior to March 2020.
Gun range is good. The staff I've had mixed experiences with. Some days I'll go in and they're approachable and other days they arent. Like a "buy your stuff and leave" kind of thing.
There's been times where I call and ask for a certain firearm or item in stock and they would be short and rude with their answer. Asked if they carried certain items and was told "Yes but we are NOT selling to the general public right now." Kind of said it in a tone like he wanted me to buzz off. A shame because they are the only BIG local gun store in town.
Transfer fees are high. You are likely going to pay much more on top

So I want to lower my score after visiting this place more often (to use the lanes every now and then) since some of the positives I have noted previously no longer apply.
The range last time was very hot. It's June and the showroom felt great, but in the actual range it's like the AC wasn't on or something. Might as well go to Lemoore to target shoot if that's the case (membership is much cheaper)
Staff still hit or miss. Everything is still overpriced compared to other stores within 30 minutes. Membership prices are outrageous for the quality of the range.
No more fully online ccw course as far as I can tell. Renewals AND new applicants have to go in person while competitors offer fully online options for cheaper or the same price.
I used to use the range here about once every month to brush up, but honestly, I think I'm just going to start going elsewhere.
EDIT 2 2025: The owner can't help himself and his ego and just has to be sarcastic and snarky in low rating reviews.
No, they don't offer a fully online ccw course despite his reply insisting I'm uninformed. A quick review of their ccw section on their own website confirms this. Its hybrid. It is not entirely online. You are required to go in for an in person portion of the class. And I reiterate, there are options that are way more accommodating in Fresno, Kings, and Tulare county that are FULLY online (minus the live fire)
So I'm clearly not uninformed in that regard, and surely they don't expect me to know what cooling system to use for the range portion of the building right?
Its not even hard to act just a little bit professional when responding to reviews bringing issues to your attention. Why not just accept some criticism and actually take it into account? What do you gain from insulting people that have had an undesirable experience at your place of business, legitimate experiences too. That's exactly when you try to fix that customer relationship. Show that you care.
To anyone that may be considering KGC in Hanford, don't. It sucks, because a legit, community focused and driven firearm store and range would be so awesome here. It's just not KGC.
And since the owner wants to act this way, here are some substitutes:
Ccw initial and renewal: 559ccw or The Firing Line (both offer fully online convenient courses, just go in for live fire)
Ammo and firearms: Sportsmans warehouse in Visalia (way better prices than kgc)
Target shooting: Lemoore Sportsmans Club (cheaper membership, more variety)

And what do you know? As of 10/10/25 they have added fully online ccw courses back to their website. Am I still 'uninformed' for pointing out the lack of this a week ago? What was the point in that circus show and acting like that if you listened to the feedback anyway? Hilarious and embarrassing. And no, I won't change my score just because of their attitude.
Now the owner claims I'm a troll that wants him to buy review accounts? That's some serious next level delusion. What do I have to gain from having a negative experience at this business and sharing that with others? I don't care that you have to buy review accounts or whatever that means. Cry me a river and admit you get all hissy when people bring up valid...
   Read moreI came in to check out some guns I was interested in and front desk guy Anthony approached my family in a rude manner. The white guy behind there was really cool about everything but it seems like Anthony wanted to kick us out. I had called earlier to see what the hours were and understood they closed at 4pm, and I mentioned that I already knew the hours. Itâs 3:15pm even if I didnât buy today I couldâve came back on a different day to make the actual purchase. I wanted to purchase a revolver already having what I wanted in mind since I checked their stock online, and wanted my wife to take the 20 minute test. Other than him, store looks great, Iâd recommend at least checking it out, hopefully at least getting one of the good guys.
Response to owner: As mentioned, I called ahead of time, got there prior to closing, already had a gun in mind but it was my first time in your shop. Anthonyâs demeanor upon coming in was awful, instantly made my wife uncomfortable, I noticed and decided for us to leave. I understood the rules prior to coming in, she just wanted to take her test as she felt ready to finally become a new gun owner while I was going to ask the other guy about the revolver I wanted. There was no rush on anyoneâs end, either way as you mentioned you guys closed at 4:00pm so there was plenty of time to be out before that. His attitude wouldnât have bothered me had it not made my wife uncomfortable. We havenât had any encounters like this one at any other gun shop and like I said, your shop is great, I went out of my way to drive an hour to visit even if I wouldnât have had time to make a purchase. He ruined that experience hence the review. Iâll gladly make another trip when I have time again to drive by but for now my review stands based on my encounter...
   Read moreAs soon as I walked in the guy at the front desk immediately asked for my ID and information, very hostile and hostile towards his co workers as well, saying "I will hurt you" when he made a comment causing extreme discomfort not just for myself but also towards his co worker. I've never felt racially profiled but as soon as other guys walked in of a lighter complexion no interrogation, no questions, and NO ID check. Would not recommend due to hostile atmosphere created by one of their current employees. I definitely will not be buying anything from here anytime soon!
Response to owner: Very unprofessional of you to assume that im lying rather than investigating the issue and blaming the customer, there are other reviews as well that share the same concerns about your staff and their demeanor, feel free to reach out too if you want more details about what took place on September 26th 2025 between 6:15-6:50pm at the front desk. If your cameras capture audio then you will clearly see that I am not lying, not playing victim, and you have a serious problem with who you hire and how they treat potential customers, it's unfortunate for you because your further arrogance just reiterates my point that your store is undeserving of my money. Don't expect to see any of it anytime soon.
Ps. Someone needs to take his ccw away before he hurts someone, no hate to the owner, but your response and this particular employee are proof that something is seriously wrong with your business.
