I have always shopped at menards but their new slogan âdedicated to service & qualityâ seems like a joke. Their service has no quality. After a 3rd bad experience with Menards I decided to try other home improvement stores. Homedepot seems to be doing things right. And although the 11% rebate sounds nice Iâve found that the quality of product and customer service is way better at homedepot. And with the flooring I got it was actually cheaper at home depot. The first bad experience at menards was a few years ago when I bought carpet and the padding for underneath. They did not give me the amount of padding I purchased and would not correct it. I therefore lost $250. I shouldâve never returned after that experience, but yet I did. The second bad experience is when I bought a gate for my fence and had multiple pieces missing. I contacted them and they said they would ship it to me, itâs been a couple years now still havenât gotten that package. I did contact them again and they told me to just go to the store and get it but when at the store they said I couldnât. Youâd think Iâd of learned by now to stay away from Menards but nope. Iâve been back several times but recently I got flooring and the underlayment is supposed to be free as their catalog stated and the flooring department worker stated this as well. We had to get some flooring at Beloit location and some at Machesney location. This deal was not honored. So it was returned and I will not be back to Menards. Aside from all the money and time I have wasted with this retailer the customer service has been terrible. The manager at the Machesney store âKeeshaâ was extremely rude and disrespectful. And when I got the flooring I help was offered to put it on the cart, wheel the cart to the front or help load it in the truck. I will now take my business elsewhere as they have failed too many times. Hopefully no one else has to be treated like I have been after being a loyal customer...
Read moreWent in for an item. None on shelf. Went up to the desk by the checkouts, to ask if any in back, and the youg lady was on the phone pushing buttons. I stood there a couple if minutes. She never even looked up. No acknowledgment. Not a smile, or just a moment. Nothing. Just a somber face, looking down, pushing buttons. So I left. Went to Home Depot. The quality of the product was not good there. So I looked up on the website to see If Menards had my product in stock.. It said they had 5. See i purchased this product over a week ago and took the last of it. And i thought it was odd that they were still out. So I went back, and the entrance girls confirmed the stock and said to meet someone back by the shelf. A young man met me and looked at the shelf and said, I guess we don't have any. I showed him the website. He looked up at some boxes above, and then another employee stopped. He scanned the price sticker and said there's 5. They must be on the pallet. And that they would have to go in The back. The 1st young man walked away, and made a call. He came back, wouldn't look at me, and said real slow, no we don't have any. I said, I get it. No one wants to look for it on the pallet. Lazy! I go out if my way to shop here, but they won't go out if their way to give you service. I see so many complaints about the staff. It's apparent that this is a...
Read moreWOW. This will be my last purchase at Menards ever. My husband made a return of an item that we had a receipt for and it was not over their time limit or anything to return an item. The store clerks give them a certificate instead of cash back and I was not delighted when he came home. So I made the trip out of the way from where I usually go. I used the certificate to buy Halloween candy and a few other things and I also added $11 cash for what I bought. And I paid in cash. I bought the wrong light bulb so it was over $6 and I need to return it. They will not give me cash again. I just bought the darn thing less than a week ago. I paid cash of course as I said. They will only give me a certificate but that is their policy, because I used a certificate that my husband was given. I cannot believe I cannot get my cash back. The cash I contributed is more than the item I am returning. I am sick to death of having to get certificates from Menards. So please keep it in mind that if you make a return you might not get your cash back from Menards. Even though their policy says cash back they stuck my husband and I with a certificate, according to their corporate policy. It's the principle-- it's my money. The manager told me to buy toilet paper. Can you believe that LOL....
