A review for this store is way, way overdue. For that I'm sorry. I can't say enough great things about the staff here. They're always willing to lend a helping hand and make sure you have what you need. Everyone asks if there is anything that can help you with. They are very hospitable, knowledgeable, and kind. And often, they'll go the oven beyond for the community.
I am a local ER nurse and last March we had run out of n95 masks for Covid at the hospital. It was a very scary time. Masks were sold out in every store and online. The staff knew that I had been looking for protection so one of them put the mask aside for me for the next time I came in and gave me a p100 respirator, thanked me for my service, and said it was on the house per the owner. That really touched my heart. It gave me hope that as a community, we can stick together and care for one another during difficult times. And that we're not alone.
I'll never forget that moment because it may have saved my life. From the bottom of my heart, I'd like to thank the staff at Harwich Ace Hardware for their kind gesture to me and the continued amazing service I experience every time I'm in that store.
Cheers to you...
Read moreNice selection of items and relatively good pricing. There does seem to be an issue with some of the checkout clerks, with the exception of one or two of the regular clerks, they are just plain rude. One guy at the register, who was clearly having a bad day, was so rude it was appalling - absolutely No communication whatsoever (not a hello, not a hi, no nothing) just a stare as he huffed and puffed about being at the register. I refuse to go back and will go to the Chatham store instead - much friendlier staff who actually say hello and try to help instead of just a stare down of a paying customer trying to do business at a local shop versus Amazon or home depot. Frankly, I wish I had jotted down his name, but clearly was a manager who thought it was beneath him to help a customer and made sure I knew...
Read moreA memorable experience at a hardware store ... Which says more than words could convey, as hardware stores feel more foreign to me than almost anything. Generally I don't make things for people to use, or fix things that break from being used. So being walked thru (quite literally) a concept that was brand new to me was met with genuine interest and considerate thought. So being provided with return ideas, suggestions, and instructions was such a relief! All of this was done with a genuine desire to please, sincere enthusiasm for helpfulness. I look forward to my next project and I know exactly where I will go to get any help I will need along the way. This particular hardware store is three towns over and a 20min drive from where I live - and still it is the one that will help me get the...
