I cannot say enough glowingly ecstatic things about this location! Hosts: The sweetest, kindest, most accommodating people I have known at an Airbnb. Their response time to any questions, is almost instantaneous. This location feels like a home away from home, with an Aloha welcome. Room: First, and foremost, it's clean. Amazingly, welcomingly clean. Next, the decor is bright, yet soothing. The choices for bedding, cafe table, armoire, towels, and so on, are spot-on. I do have the only air-conditioned room in the place. It is a relief, because I am on the end of the home with the most sunshine exposure. I believe it would have been difficult to stay here, for a full two weeks, without that amenity. I am grateful that the hosts recognize this, and provided this room with a portable, in-room air conditioner. The wraparound design of the room, does allow for wonderful breezes, in the evenings and in the mornings. I did have to close it up on the hotter days, around 9 a.m., and turn the air conditioner on to keep it reasonably cool. Location: At a brisk walk, it's 5 minutes to the beach. Taking your time, it's about 10 minutes.... considering you have to walk uphill, on the way back, I recommend taking your time. It is also close to the Ali'i Drive trolley line ($2, each way), which runs on the hour. This allows for easy navigation, up and down the coast. Ammenities: In room, there is a full tub/shower, adjacent to a small kitchenette. Be aware that the kitchen that does not come with any sort of ceramic hot plate, or other stove top. There is a microwave, a small coffee maker, and a refrigerator that is subcompact. The freezer and refrigerator have ample space for a stay up to a month. If you are an avid cook, you do have to get creative. Out on the patio, there is a grill, with a side burner. That is where I have done most of my cooking. It has worked well, for me. There is only one pan provided. It is a frying pan, in your room, for the side burner on the grill. However, my host has let me know that if I need additional cookware, they are happy to provide it from the main house, which is on site. In summary, for a single person, or a couple, this is a fantastic location, that will save you money, make you feel at home, and provide you with the amenities you need to enjoy your stay.

Super cute and very clean, Dean and Sherry are so nice and polite; place just 10min walk from Kona’s Farmers Market but 3min on Uber, coins washer and dryer in building available for use, place is so homey and it feels safe.

Dean and Sherry are really superhosts. Dean was so helpful in many ways!! We stayed in the Garden Room because we wanted to be able to sit outside. This room has an outdoor shower that can be reached via the toilet.|Nontheleless we would recommend this house only to people who can live with the lack of privacy. Because of the shutters you practically live outside, with all the noises from the other guests. We heard all of what was said above us and all the noises from the birds (in our room, the noisy street was no problem). So even if everybody had respect and moved or spoke carefully, we did not really feel free in this house...what also made us unhappy was the fact that the kitchen sink doubled as a bathroom sink and all the washing and shaving had to be done in the face of the one sharing your queen bed. We are used to have privacy doing these things. So everyone who is not so picky as we are and more accustomed to camping should have a good time in this house on the hill, in easy walking distance to the town. And who does not need a stove for preparing meals as there was only a microwave, a coffeemaker and an electric tea kettle beside a fridge and freezer. |I would have liked to rate this house between average and very good but could not do this.|Summarized: wonderful hosts, poor accomodation. We paid the lowest price of the 5 places that we stayed in on the islands. And that price was justified. Good for others, not...

This was our second time to stay here. We enjoyed it so much two years ago, we didn't even consider staying anywhere else on our latest trip. Sherri and Dean are the most wonderful hosts. Besides giving you a clean comfortable place to stay, the have everything necessary for a great vacation. Laundry on site. Beach chairs, boogie boards, coolers, its all there. They also have a nice deck area with a grille that you are free to use and their is off street parking. Oh, and they have Wi-Fi. I almost want to be selfish and not tell anyone about the place so it will be available when we want to visit again. We like the Tiki Room upstairs. Open air and has a wonderful cool mountain breeze at night that switches to an ocean breeze during the day. Fully equipped studio with microwave and full sized fridge, separate bathroom and closet, TV and clock radio. And the hosts are great at recommending restaurants and giving travel advice. You just can't do better and we can't wait to go again. Thanks for a wonderful vacation! ...
