Hanauma Bay Tours — Local services in Hawaii

A fantastic tour group to say the least. We were in a smaller passenger van with my wife and I and another family of 5. We saw lots of sites all over Oahu with stops at places such as the North Shore, Waimea Bay, Tsue’s Farm, the Dole Plantation, and Hanauma Bay! In between stops we were shown many sites as well and given history behind them. All throughout the tour and stops our guide was able to teach us about the culture and insights into Oahu and Hawaii as a whole. We were even, at one point, transferred over into a limousine to be taken into Hanauma Bay due to the restriction of traffic so I can now mark that off of the bucket list. At the North Shore we visited Pipeline Beach and stayed there for an hour. Then we headed to Waimea Bay for an hour and was able to do some rock jumping. Then went to Tsue’s Farm for a lunch and paddleboarding down the river to open ocean and back up. Afterwards we had a quick stop at the dole plantation for some great dole whip and then were off to Hanauma Bay! We snorkeled there for several hours and got to see a tone of marine life and it was not crowded as we only saw one other couple once while snorkeling as people tended to stay close to shore. Overall a great tour with a great guide. Would suggest...

The positives: Hanauma Bay is gorgeous and would recommend the Bay to anyone. Great place to snorkel with a significant other or family. I took my fiancée.

The negatives: The reason for my negative rating is customer service and safety, which are definitely extremely important. Our driver yelled at us, was extremely belligerent, condescending, and unsafe. He picked us up in the middle of a busy street and dropped us off on that same busy intersection where we felt uncomfortable entering and exiting the van in that manner. We could have easily been hit by a fast moving vehicle heading down the busy street. The driver could have easily pulled into our hotel driveway, but nope he choose the very negligent path. Safety to me is the most important thing and if my fiancée had been hit due to this negligence I would have devastated. I have read other reviews of this tour, I'm sure there are great drivers out there with this company, but I can only speak for the driver I had. He should fired.

Use another tour or form of transportation to get over there to Hanauma Bay. Some day this driver will cause extreme harm, please be safe. Hawaii is such an amazing destination, don't bother taking a chance with...

This would get 1 star except that our driver was lovely & we understand that not everything that went wrong today was the fault of Hanauma bay tours. But we have to say it - whatever you do, DON'T book a tour to come here!!! It costs an unnecessary amount for no benefit, the gear they lend you is likely to be faulty & you can't change it once they drop you off, & you won't be able to stay as long as you may want or need to. The tour info online promised 4hrs of snorkeling - we ended up having ONE measly hour!! This was due to long lines (40mins to get in, another 30mins to wait for the movie, 15mins wait to use lockers...) & none of these were the tours fault, but if we had caught an uber or a bus, we could have stayed as long as we wanted! The park doesn't close until 6pm! Also, if we'd just hired gear from thd park, we could have gone back & changed it, which we couldn't do once the tour bus dropped us off. A super disappointing day after years of planning, saving & anticipation - i actually cried...
