What an amazing place to go and get away from it all, although watch out for small kine Crime - Pickpockets and what not, have had many things stolen at this location, best to leave your valuables at home. Just take what you need to get by for whatever your means, so means leave a towel on the beach but do not leave anything in it unless someone is watching your stuff because there will not be much left over if you do not watch.
The homeless on this side of town have been building up around we duet to tourism, You will find the Panhandlers more common as you move west in Waikiki - This side they do not ask they just take... SO BEST to go with as little as you can - As I do, and I rarely have issue.
This place is where you can swim all day, by evening (On Friday at 8p they do fireworks on sand island and this is a great place to watch them)
This place also offers a great view at night!!!

Read moreFun place to bodyboard. Lack of enforcement of any rules keeps this from rating 5 stars. Smoking and jumping from wall (pier) take place daily. Fisherman cast into Marine Preserve to the left of the wall. Drugs used on the wall. No police presence for the 2 weeks I was there.
The homeless camps near the wall make the park feel unsafe. Witnessed fights there. The tables and benches that were taken over by homeless have now all been caged and locked so no one can use them.
