Hulakai — Local services in Hawaii

THIS PLACE IS THE BEST!! This is now my favorite go to place for nice local products and clothing, and it's reasonably priced. What impressed me most was when I contacted the store (I was away, traveling), and wanted to purchase a dress for a gift, and to have it shipped out to the recipient. Well, I spoke with Renee, who is the store manager. And let me tell you, she is Awesome!! She was very courteous, and professional, yet what impressed me the most, was the efficiency and speed that she took, starting with taking my order over the phone, processing my payment, and then preparing and getting my package mailed out that day. Within 10 minutes of my first call, she called me back with the tracking number, and said she would mail me my receipt, and if I had any questions, to let her know. I was blown away with how efficient she handled this. The package was received, safely sealed in a plastic bag, to protect it from damage, just in case it got wet. And when I returned from my travels, the mailed receipt was waiting for me. And yes, the dress fit her...

Avoid this place like the plague. Once they have your card number after you rent a board, they'll rip you off. A $60 daily rental of a plastic Chinese pop out board will become a $240 rental and you can't do anything about it. They're crooks.

Response: Nonsense. By your own admission you're billing me for the hypothetical loss of revenue for the time to fix it, which we both know is about an hour. That was not clearly laid out in the rental agreement and to say otherwise is dishonest. It's a simple a repair to an already banged up plastic, rental board manufactured in China for less than the cost...

I usually never post, but I was so impressed on the customer service I received at Hulakai in Hilo. My 2 year old and I are so happy with our first and new stand up paddle board! Rene was so generous, kind and helpful and set everything up for us and even installed the board to our car and taught me step by step how to set it up! She even gave me tips I wasn’t aware about. Her employee was also very sweet and caring. This shop and service really embraces the notion of aloha!
