First and foremost the crew on the Ke Kai were exceptional. Aiden, Caleb, Justin and Travis were phenomenal. Quite simply - everyone has good days and bad days, but my gut says these guys will all convince you (every single day) they are having the best day of their lives and you should be too! They are quick with the jokes, they made sure everyone was comfortable, understood the process/rules, and went about doing their jobs with the biggest/most authentic smiles on their faces the entire trip.
We were fortunate enough to have seen 3 large sea turtles - 2 of them up close and personal. And while I would’ve been disappointed if we hadn’t seen any - truthfully I don’t think I would’ve blamed the crew in any way - for as great as they are, (and they were likely the best crew I’ve seen on an kind of boat charter), I don’t believe they had the ability to communicate with the turtles to command them to the surface. From my standpoint, they put us in the best possible spots to see a variety of sea life - but it is the turtles that everyone wants to see - and I will admit that I didn’t find the fish nearly as interesting as you might find in other areas.
Long story short - I couldn’t recommend the Ke Kai and this crew any more highly. I do t know what these guys get paid - but from a client perspective I’d argue they deserve a raise. They played a significant role in making it...
Read moreWe did three different sails with Ke Kai during our weeklong honeymoon in Hawaii from Australia — and each one was completely unique and absolutely essential. You simply must do all three!
First up was the Sunset Sail — what a dream! Incredible views of Waikiki and Diamond Head, delicious cocktails, and an amazing crew. We loved Captain Justin (aka "Temu Jason Momoa" or the "Paddle Pop Lion"). We danced the afternoon away and watched the sun melt into the ocean. Pure magic.
A few days later, we joined the Turtle Canyon Snorkel Tour, and this one is an absolute must-do if you want to see sea turtles up close. Karina, Leonie, and Aidan were fantastic guides, and we swam just metres from the turtles before sailing back with cocktails in hand. Truly unforgettable.
To top it off, we finished with the Friday Night Fireworks Sail — another must! Every Friday, fireworks light up the sky over the Hilton Lagoon, and the best (and only!) way to experience them properly is from the water. We had front-row views, great vibes, and yet more cocktails.
Highly recommend ALL THREE on the Kei Kai with...
Read moreThis was the worst experience that I've ever had on vacation. The instructions are to show up on Waikiki beach at 5 pm because boarding will start then but the catamaran didn't arrive on the shore until 5:15pm. It's very confusing when there are tons of people out there on a very busy beach. The description also didn't mention that you'll be barefoot on the boat or that you'll be soaked from giant waves so don't bother wearing a nice outfit and shoes. Their "bathrooms" are boat restrooms which means that it'll be too small to sit down on, it doesn't flush, and you'll be in there barefoot (gross). The worst part about this ride was the constant drop-down from massive waves. At one point, it felt unsafe and I begged to have the boat turned around. They eventually turned it around earlier than expected because of the waves but don't gaslight me into thinking this was a normal ride. I wouldn't recommend if you get seasick at all, have children with you, or...
