Kona Mansions Condominiums — Local services in Hawaii

I defitinetly not recommend this place.

When I arrived there, I could not open the key locker located on the door of the unit with the password the managing company Vacasa sent me.

So I had to reach them in order to get help. After 20 minutes they could finally help me open the key locker and get the key.

However the key could not open the door of the unit.

So I had to contact them again to get help. After 40 minutes they could finally help me open the door.

I settled in and realized there was no actual window in the apartment.

Indeed, in what could have been spaces for windows were mosquitoes protections and little glass protections you can slide up or down. Even after sliding down the glass protections, we could still here everything happening outside. Indeed these were no windows.

I did not think that would be an actual problem, until I realized I could hear everything happening on the outside, especially cars and a very noisy bird that started making a regular loud noise in late afternoon until the next morning.

I had to contact again the company Vacasa who could not help me and told me to reach them again the next morning. They did not care I would not be able to sleep that night.

So the next morning, after a night with no sleep at all because of the noise, I contacted them again.

They again told me no manager was available and made a request so that a manager would later contact me that morning.

No manager, of course, contacted me that morning. Instead he contacted me later in the afternoon telling me there was nothing they could do except me leaving the unit and they would refund me the remaining of my stay.

I answered by telling them I wanted a full refund as I was not able to sleep on that first night. But no more answer from that manager.

I left that unit on that day because I needed to sleep at night during my stay. Which is normal when you book a stay in an apartment, but apparently not for Vacasa.

As I did not receive any answer from my email, I sent a new email requesting again my refund but still no answer.

To this day I have not been refunded for this stay and still have not received any answer from that manager.

That is to say, if you want to have a nice vacation and being able to sleep, and being considered by the managing company, do...

We loved this place. Ocean view and great flow through ventilation! Loved the biophylic design that newer buildings lack. While new complexes are all asphalt and air conditioners we could appreciate Hawaii here and hear the ocean! birds, geckos ….life! Each building has a courtyard of happy permanent plants. The saltwater pool was a nice chem free surprise we used a lot. Nice mix of local folks and visitors that is rare. Glad we found this place that still has life oriented design that is so rare anymore. If you don’t like exercising, nature sounds, ventilation over a/c find a new build but there are trade offs to experiencing Hawaii. This will be our go to place. We stayed in A301 which was very clean, well stocked, well...

Great location within short walk to downtown Kona for restaurants, shops, bars, beaches. We stayed at unit C309 has amazing ocean view, watch sunset every evening from the dining room. I love to BBQ so we get to use the BBQ areas and Pool couple times were great. Highly recommend Kona Mansions if you can get the ocean view room...
