Kona Pacific — Local services in Hawaii

Rented Unit B510 for a week. This condo was recently remodeled/upgraded with nice finishes. Even though it had only one bedroom, there were two full baths, which was an added plus. Both sliders connected to a decently sized lanai with a partial ocean view! The kitchen had just about everything we needed to cook several meals over the course of the week. There were two air conditioner window units, which were a bit noisy, but kept the place cool and removed the humidity. The place even had beach chairs, towels, umbrellas, coolers, etc. Everything was great! I definitely would recommend renting this unit.

Although this review is mainly focused on this condo, I will say the Kona Pacific complex overall was very nice and well maintained. There is a small pool with plenty of chaise lounges and umbrellas, three bbqs, several tables, and a covered area. The unit we rented included parking in a garage, which definitely kept the car cooler than being in direct sunlight. There were plenty of elevators as well, so no need to walk up any stairs with luggage in the heat! The location to Kona was great, as there were several (waterfront) restaurants and bars within a 5 minute walk. The only downside to staying in this area of the Big Island is lack of any big beautiful sandy beaches, which are about 30 minutes...

Very overpriced during the holiday Multiple issues with our unit. No hot water in kitchen or second bathroom. I showered in cold water every morning and woke up with a horrible cough after the 3rd day. Fold out bed was lumpy and slanted. There were no sheets for this bed and the mattress pad was stained. Blind slats were missing in the living room where the fold out bed was, therefore too much light and no privacy. All the plastic cups in the kitchen were cracked at the bottom and leaked. Urine stain around the toilet base. Refrigerator buzzed loudly all night which was near the fold out bed. Woke up to green pool water and couldn't utilize the pool. Parking is for compact cars only and tenants should be advised prior to making car reservations. All of these things were reported to management when they sent a follow up email asking for our review. Never received a single response....

We spent 8 glorious days and would have been happy to spend 80! From the moment we arrived (midnight) we were treated with kind and professional service. We were in their smallest unit yet found we lacked for nothing. Someone commented about the rules. I say the rules are there for the benefit if all the residents. Not being philosophical but practical, when people live together, there must always be rules, each benefiting some of the whole. For example, hanging towels from the balcony is not only unsightly but dangerous if they blow off, the pool size was in harmony with the number if guests snd being salt-water and deep was one if the best.We’ll say in closing, the value The Imperial offers is the best...
