L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Hawaii

I came to L&L because back home in Honolulu our L&L in Market City is the Best *. This store was closer than the other L&L listed so we came here, that was a mistake, never coming here again. It was about 8:20pm I asked the woman behind the counter what time they closed she said 9:00 I said ok then started to review the menu. By the way my L&L cost $1.30 less but most items cost a little more in Hilo. I ordered a mini Beef Stew all brown rice and she said no mo beef stew only curry stew so I said ok, make it curry stew. Then my daughter was putting in her order so I was trying to listen to what was being said so I could help her, but the lady was talking so fast with a heavy accent and was getting irritated with us so she huffed and pointed at the picture and said like da pikcha. She then rang us up I handed her the money as she gave it back she laid the bills and receipt in my hand then tossed the change in my hand with no Thank You. Lady maybe its been a long day but we don't care we just want our food. Then we got food the Curry was too salty the Barbeque Chicken was too salty. Mr L&L you need to Undercover Boss some of your franchisees. This should be your first one. Fire that grouch behind the counter, hire a young friendly local girl like they have at the Korean BBQ next door. This won't stop me from going to L&L just...

I am visiting the Big Island and decided to stop by L&L and have some "Barbecue". First off, I paid 41$ for the meat combo plate, Orange chicken mini dish and a small soda. No refill on the almost 4$ soda... service was quite slow... the food was really nothing to be proud of.. about the only thing it had going for it was it was hot... other than that I am highly disappointed and will not be supporting this local chain again. L&L for lack and luster..

L&L did reply to my review citing economic conditions for the prices and affordability of their "Barbecue" ... however, affordability isn't the issue ... it is the quality of the food for the cost I was reviewing... regardless of the current economy .. for the money you charge not only should I receive better service but I should also get a better quality meal.. the food in my opinion was close to terrible and frankly I could have gotten better quality food for the price...

On July 1, 2023, three of us embarked on a journey to visit all 12 L&L locations on Big Island and eat one order of musubi at each restaurant. This was our 8th stop on our 11+ hour journey.

This is hands down the worst location on island. The food court atmosphere is so unpleasant. There is an arcade/kids fun zone attached and there are kids everywhere and all screaming. The bathroom was filthy. Nothing here is nice.

The food tasted fine, but is the most expensive location on island and not worth the extra money. If you are craving L&L, just drive 10 minutes to the downtown location by the farmers market. It is so much better than this spot.

Service was fine, they didn't really want to give us any stickers, but it was still ok service. I would avoid this location at all costs. Sorry if you are the owner reading this, but this is just not a...
