So glad we have another local bookshop! This place kept popping up on Threads and Instagram before their opening, so I made a mental note to check it out once open. Since it was no longer opening weekend, I decided to go! First, it's between my favorite ice cream spot and my favorite popcorn spot, so it just feels right. Second, it definitely isn't huge, but it is a pretty good size. Many of the shelves aren't filled yet, but to me, that felt nice because I didn't have to scan through as many books, I love bookshops but things like that kind of overwhelm me and make it hard to choose. They have a lot of nice art in there that is also for sale which is pretty cool. It looks like they support other small artists by selling their stickers (of course I got one), crochet, and drawings.
We popped in around 10:45 on a Saturday morning and there were quite a few people in there! As we wandered around there was 1 book that kept drawing me back in, so of course I had to get it. At first, I wasn't sure about pricing, but it's written inside the first page or 2. Some books were signed first editions, some were rare printings, and others were just normal books. Their genres also ranged from poetry, fantasy, thriller, historical, and YA. Service was absolutely wonderful, from the people at the register to those walking around. Lovely experience. I loved it, thought it was really cute, and I'm so glad it's in the neighborhood! I look forward to supporting this little bookstore...
Read moreI came in with my husband and two small kids on August 22, around 7 p.m. There were three people who were working during our visit. At first, I thought that the only person who was an employee was the gentleman behind the counter because he was the only one who greeted us and the other two employees were being so obnoxious and loud so I thought they were other customers. That's no big deal, but there was a pretty good group of people in there at the time, and the male worker (Joe) was cussing a lot to the point where we felt that we needed to leave because our toddler was scared. Funny thing is, we ran into some other customers that happened to be in the store at the same time next door and overheard them talking about their bad experience too. What a shame since bookstores are usually supposed to be community-driven and cozy places. I will continue to support my local library and other bookstores in the valley instead because it doesn't seem like this is the first time this store has struggled with customer service problems in their short...
Read moreHappened to stop by this book store with my wife before making our way to brew tea. Cute little store, but one of the employees was obnoxious. First off, one of the workers taller, skinny kid, I believe his name is Joe, was using foul language with children present in the store.
We didn't happen to purchase anything on our way out and that foul mouthed worked said "okay, bye whatever" as we were walking out the door. It looks like this employee was complained about 4 weeks ago and he's still employed here. I love supporting small businesses, but this one desn't seem like the store cares, so I wouldn't recommend coming here.
Maybe Joe should work on customer experience rather than taking pictures of his arm showing his veins and "pretending like he goes to the gym" as he said.
I also got a snarky remark on my yelp review. Maybe it's a burner account, or maybe it's someone who works there. Funny that an employee is calling multiple customers lieing about sour experiences. Try not to make it so obvious...
