My husband and I decided to stop by the new Schewels on Saturday. We found lots of beautiful pieces that were reasonably priced. We decided on a kitchen table and a matching serving table. Cathy was our salesperson and she was incredible. She was attentive but not pushy. She was patient and answered all of our questions. The person who helped us with financing (not sure of her name) was equally helpful and patient. She answered all of our questions and made sure we understood what we were getting. They also sent us home with a brand new set of nonstick pots!!
Today was the day the furniture would be delivered. I received a call from Cathy to inform me that they noticed a scratch on our table and that they will replace it. They would deliver the damaged table and we can use it until the replacement comes in which would be in a few weeks. I really appreciated her calling to let me know ahead of time.
The delivery people were very prompt (Tyrell and one other gentleman- not sure of his name). As they were putting the table together, they asked if Cathy had informed me of the scratch. I really appreciated them mentioning it to me. It really shows that their employees have integrity and want to do right by their clients. If I’m being honest, I would not have even noticed the scratch at first so I was grateful that they noticed and were forthcoming to tell me. The server table was not on the truck but should have been. I called Cathy and she fixed it immediately. She assured me that it would be delivered today and that she would have someone contact me when they were on their way.
Sure enough, the delivery team calls when they were on the way. The same two gentleman arrive promptly and bring in the server table. They were apologetic for not having it the first go round. They were nothing short of polite and professional.
I was absolutely blown away with the service from start to finish I had with Schewels as a whole. This particular location has earned a long time client. I have already bragged to my friends and co-workers and will continue to refer people to this group. THANK...

EDIT: I give in-person 5 stars. However, delivery was not so much. stayed home from work to ensure someone was there for delivery. The delivery truck came flying down our gravel driveway that if had it been furniture in there, I think it would have been damaged. They came up blaring music so loudly you could hear it in our house. Trash fell out of the truck, they did not pick it up. Then they did not have our mattress pad- when questioned they said they forgot it but we could come to the store to get it. After telling them but it was supposed to be delivered, they said they would deliver it tomorrow. I called the store several hours later to check on when it would be delivered, they were unaware we hadn’t received it. They also told me to come to the store. I told them no, so they put me on hold and came back saying it will be shipped. Not sure when that will happen, but after being told this over $100 mattress pad protects my mattress for its warranty, it’s frustrating to not receive it. Also after making a big purchase for a mattress set and setting up delivery, I do not think it’s right they immediately try to put responsibility on me to get the pad when they forgot. Read moreHello. My husband and I came into the Henderson NC location to buy a mattress. We wanted a double sided pillow top with the cooling agent. My husband and I decided on the perfect one. (We had been searching all day because I like soft, and he likes firm)
Then we decide to look at the TVs and my husband decided to buy a 65 inch tv as well. Our total was $1493. We pull around to collect our new mattress and after 20 minutes we are told, they do not have that mattress in stock.
So we go back inside and have another look around. The salesman Dave was willing to negotiate on a different mattress. The mattress we bought was $750, the mattress he was offering for an even exchange was 899, however it did not meet our specifications. There was ONLY one other bed we were interested in buying which was a hybrid for 1499. My husband was willing to pay an additional $300 so we can get a mattress today, but Dave was not willing to meet us halfway or any at all for the inconvenience.
Also, we asked for a store manager and was told the store manager wasn’t in. Dave went to get an employee name Reyna who also said they would not be able to help at all. (Since we had already paid.)
After realizing the staff was not trying to meet us at all we finally request a refund. So, the store lost an $1800 sale for 400. I plan to call the Home Office in Lynchburg first thing Monday Morning as well as the store manager while we await for the refund to go back...
