I spent over $50 for this horrible "food" and that only is offensive. I ordered falafel wrap and fries, my friend ordered steak and shrimp kebab and we both ordered pistachio baklava.
My friend wasnt thrilled about his food and the shrimp was dicey so he didn't eat that. The french fries were dark brown wayyy overcooked. And my falafel tasted strongly of meat. I'm a vegetarian so I took a bite then one more. Idk if it was cooked next to the meat. We took everything with us but ended up trashing it, as much as I hate wasting food I wasn't going to make myself sick. We left the restaurant and made a beeline for McDonalds.
The baklava was cold, not fresh, and hard like it had been in that fridge for a long time. I didn't taste it as I left it in my friend's car. He hasn't had baklava before so I told him, you'll know what it's supposed to taste like once you taste it. He sent me a test message with this emoji to describe it "😮💨" loll
The lady at the front wasnt very helpful and acted like we should already know what's on the menu. I wanted a juice but since she wouldnt tell what the juices were in the fridge behind the counter, we both got fountain drinks. The ice machine barely put out any ice and sounded like it was about to give up the ghost. The sodas didn't have much carbonation.
The restaurant used to be a Sonic. They haven't taken down the Sonic sign though. Upon second look they had a vinyl sign over the Sonic logo but I guess the wind has taken it down.We overlooked it thinking Google was giving us the wrong directions as it's at a shopping plaza. To be honest it didn't look that clean inside. The lack of customers should have been a sign but sometimes lil joints have banging food. Not this one though
The only positive I have to say is that is was very toasty inside as the wind was absurd that particular day
Some of the reviewers' pictures look nice. I wish we had taken pictures but I had been excited before the food came, maybe partially bc it was 4pm and my first meal of the day. I feel bad, my friend had wanted to go to a spot in Durham but I was like this is closer.
When I think of my money going in the trashcan like that with the economy the way it is and it being the...
Read moreI smashed my food before thinking of a picture lol. The food seemed very authentic. I tried the Mixed Kebab platter. I had 2 Kofta kebabs and a shrimp as my choices. The Kofta was on point! If you don't like the taste and texture of lamb meat don't get it. The shrimps seasoning was really good! I got Mandy rice with it and it had a nice sweetness to it that settled so well with its savory aspects. The grape leaves I tried were not my thing! Too minty for my taste to have meat and rice stuffed inside. The hummus was amazing with fresh pita bread to match it! The dressing used in the Tzatziki Salad ended up being a one for all dressing for my kebabs. Dipping the kofta kebabs in it just felt right after the first bite! The Tzatziki salad itself was hitting the spot too though. Cucumbers mixed in a white Mediterranean dressing for the veggie lovers would be a great choice! To top it all off Yolanda up front was cool as hell. Very down to earth person and her and Habibi's both deserves alot of props! I hope they get plenty of business to help make their place even better because I'll be...
Read moreI’m sharing my review in hopes the owners will see this message. The restaurant interior could use a little upgrade and TLC. I would first like to say that when the restaurant first opened I came twice for the Mediterranean food and it was delicious. The restaurant is now in addition to the Mediterranean food is selling American style foods such as; burgers, hotdogs, corn dogs, chicken tenders etc. My husband and I came this past Friday for dinner and decided to eat outside. The soda machine was working, but the machine was out of both Diet Coke and Mountain Dew. The ice machine was out, but the cashier came to stock it back up. My Corn dog came to me all bursted open, so the oil has saturated it. My question is when you put my food on the tray there’s no way you didn’t see that. I told the cashier and they made me a new one, but the inside of that one was not hot. My husband had the double cheese burger that was EXTREMELY TOO SALTY. By this time we were both over it. I hope y’all will take the reviews into consideration to make the restaurant better and keep customers wanting...
