After reading the reviews, we still decided to give it a try! It would have been really nice if the person who worked there knew the parts of the chicken. I asked if the jerk chicken was separated between white meat and dark meat, but the person who what Bella told me he didnāt know. My husband assumed he did not know the parts of the chicken, which he did not. I told him if I could see the chicken, I would know the difference. Problem number 1: The cashier acted as if I was bothering him by asking a question. Problem number 2: The food case was covered with pictures of food. That made me think there was a reason why they didnāt want the customers to see the food prior to purchasing it! When he opened the chicken container, there were three DRY looking chicken legs and one little dry chunk of a chicken breast. I eat at Golden crust in Durham often, and I have never seen jerk chicken that looked like old baked chicken. Needless to say, we left without ordering anything. The cashier did not offer any suggestions of what to order, or take the top off of any of that food so that we could view it prior to purchasing it. That was a Wednesday 30 minute drive for me. If you want customers to purchase your food, how about number one, you employ people who know the parts of chicken, and how about you take the pictures down from the case so that customers can actually see what the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food was excellent. We got a combo plate which came with 2 meats, 2 sides, and 2 different rice dishes. The boxes were packed full and impossible to finish. We had curry goat, curry chicken, jamaican chicken, and jamaican pork. All meats were very good. A word of caution, their curry is actually a little spicy. I like spicy food so it was good for me but it will bite you a little. Also the meat dishes are cooked with bones in them so beware of those. We also got a sweet potato dessert which was awesome. My only complaint is the lack of advertising inside. When you walk in the food is prepped in a hot well, but the glass is covered with images of food so you can't see the actual food in the well. Also the menu is a little confusing as the combo platter is $14 but at the bottom it also says it's $17 so apparently the different meat choices make a different price (though it's not obvious). The guy who served us (I assume the owner) was very polite and checked on us half way through our meal. There is some seating inside and some tables outside. Overall great food and would get 5 stars if they fixed their menus, made pricing more understandable, and let people see the food rather than ugly printouts. I would definitely...

I have tried many restaurants and have been disappointed every time until today. When I tell you that the food from Chewly Delicious Jamaican Restaurant is the real dealš©š©I literally was having flashbacks of me sitting at my Grandparentās table for supper and I am completely blown away. The oxtails, jerk pork, rice and peas, vegetables, and plantains was freshly cooked to perfection. But, also the customer service were impeccable. I shared with them my struggles about finding authentic Caribbean food in the area and they quickly assured me that my search was over. Lol And they were right!
We started talking about where our families were from and next thing you know Brother Oliver was pouring mi ah cup of Sorrel šNow you know my day was made, right? I definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone and everyone who loves Caribbean food. I canāt wait to return. So big up yuh self Brother Oliver and the Chewly Delicious crew.
