Drove nearly an hour to purchase a laptop advertized at $499.99. The website said 2 units were available. When the item was rung up at the register, it showed a price of $639. When I questioned this, the manager (Amy) and I went to the display where one item showed $639 and the item I wanted was on sale for $499.
When I noted the discrepancy in SKU's the manager said that was an "online only" price and volunteered to try and ring it up "at the kiosk". This didn't work.
After driving another hour home I rechecked the ad and the ad very specifically said $499 was an in store price and two units were in stock. . Calling the store and speaking with the manager again, she confirmed that the item I wanted was indeed $499.99 but the salesperson had told her the wrong item number (as I pointed out to her at the display at the time )
She checked her inventory and found that the 2 units showing in stock consisted of a return which she could not sell and the floor unit. The nearest salable available item to me was 77 miles away and because of being cyber Monday week they could not transfer from one store to another as normal procedures allow. At no time did the manager offer any accommodation or remedy for Staple's lack of normal diligence...
Read moreI don't use this store much for the merchandise, but I do use their Amazon return service, which is great! I absolutely love the staff that I interact with. I was just there about 15 minutes ago and I witnessed a customer being incredibly rude to an employee. I think he was a manager. He was trying to offer the man a $30 rebate on the item he was purchasing so he could have credit to use in the store in the future, which is a great deal! Well, the guy got got angry at him for trying to "upsell" him. Let me make one thing very clear to people like that rude man. I understand you don't want to be swindled into spending your money unnecessarily. Here's the thing though: it's still your money and you're still in control of it. A $30 cash back offer to spend in Staples is quite a deal, even if you have to download an app and be bombarded with ads that "upsell". Throwing that back in the managers face in such a rude way was just unacceptable. The manager and the other employees handled it with such grace. Please people, don't be so rude. Understand that you're in control of your money and don't let an "upsell" piss you off so much that you become rude and belligerent with...
Read moreThis place FIRED ME for nothing. Claiming they heard customers complain I was using “drugs” in the bathroom when I would never even think to do that or WANT TO do that!! I have been sober and have proof that I have been since January 7th 2021. The manager Jacob Clue Has been trying to find a reason to fire me since he started in 2024 after our other manager had to leave on personal reasons. (John Obando). I was thrown out by some lady I didn’t even know or have never even met and I will be speaking to my lawyer about this, because I never even used drugs or relapse during this time. He just used my past as an excuse to fire me!!!! There will be a lawsuit out against this man and company for this considering I was working for them for almost 3 years. He had no proof, I never signed anything stating I was using, and never served any papers saying I acknowledged that I was being fired, he basically told me to leave the property or he was calling the cops on false allegations. I sincerely hope this place gets shut down. Especially considering the roach and rat infestation in their break room...
