Cook Out — Restaurant in Hendersonville

Honestly I’m not the type to leave these types of reviews especially with fast food places because expectations are pretty low with fast food, but this location specifically with cookout has truly been a one of kind experience. (I’ve been going to this location for about 3 years now and it’s almost always been the same).

Almost every time I order anything from this location it’s wrong and never done right. The workers are always very snappy and it’s almost like they are rushing you the entire time in the drive thru. And don’t even get me started on the AWFUL speakers in the drive thru. I had went there tonight to grab some quick dinner after working 13hrs in CUSTOMER SERIVCE, so I know exactly how it feels, and I know far more than well that it can be exhausting and you can come across all types of people. However what I experienced tonight was just not okay, and is something I would never do when talking to customers.

First off obviously I’m here to order food, and not even after the first order of food the woman working the drive thru immediately says “anything else” in the most condescending way, as if she didn’t have the time of day to take my order. In my opinion the best thing to say is “what else can I get for you” “what else would you like”.. this also happens every time I go to get food from here. Which then makes me feel like I’m being rushed or like I’m a burden for coming to get food from here.

I continue with my order and that’s all she continues to say as I’m trying to finish my order. I pull to the window and she starts handing me stuff so naturally I say “thank you!” Or “thanks” as she’s handing me things. And in return I get no acknowledgment or “of course!”.. not even a smile.

And then she finally handed me the last thing and I told her thank you AGAIN and to have a goodnight and I got no response and then she closed the window. And yes. My order was messed up as always!

This is not the first time that it’s happened at this location while I know people can obviously have bad days, and I know there is people that aren’t going to like their jobs.. hell who does?? But after all these bad experiences I’ve had almost every time I’ve gone here, it just doesn’t even feel worth it to waste my money on anymore. Messed up orders, robot workers with no emotions or hospitality, with HORRIBLE attitudes. Who are the managers and who are training these employees?? And to know that I won’t even get a human response from the actual owner/manager and just an auto generated one is even better. Don’t waste your time on this location. Not even for the milkshakes because they will hand you to them with it all running down the sides nine times out of ten with no napkins btw. Just disappointment is what this location reeks of. Went here on 10/28/18 in the evening the drive thru was wrapped around the building which is expected at Cook Out, no biggie. We got to the speaker after about 7 minutes of waiting. The girl (Deborah on our receipt) said "welcome to Cook out can I take your order" I said "Yes I want a BBQ Plate (which normally comes with fries, slaw, hush puppies, and BBQ) with a Large Sprite also I want a Cook out Tray with a chicken sandwich, no Bun no mayo and a vanilla milkshake" Out of all that she responds "ok I got a large sprite and a chicken sandwich with only mayo?" I said no then restated the order. She then asked me to repeat part of it. With my frustration growing I calmly asked her to repeat back to me what she had. She said ok, then there was silence for 5 minutes we timed it. Mind you all the cars in front of us have moved on and people behind us are honking. So I said "hello are you goin to repeat my order back?" she responds "yes, I will repeat it in a second" That was my last straw it had been 5 minutes of silence and its not like I am asking for something unreasonable, you're clearly incompetent enough that I need to verify you took my order correctly. Finally we just drive around and ask to speak to the manager. She never apologized but he apologized and said he was going to help her out and make sure our order was correct. When we got home my order was wrong. I didn't get a BBQ plate, Deborah instead rang up a cook out tray with a BBQ sandwich fires and slaw which cost more than the BBQ plate and you get less food. Plus I can't have gluten so I order the plate to avoid the bread. Needless to say I was so over dealing with her incompetence I didn't have the energy to go back and complain again. After 3 times repeating an order and you still can't get it right, I think you may need to try a different position other than drive thru. The strongest team member should be in the drive thru and it clearly...

I love cook out i just wish the burgers were bigger& they made there own ranch. The onion rings are always yum and i had a sip of my friends chocolate caramel shake .I wish i didnt get sick when i eat too much sugar cause id love one all to myself.I have a strict practice of never drinking my sugar if i can help it . I save it for a dessert when i get one . moxy my good pup loved her patty. We ate as we watched Trump .What a way to end Sabbath.
