Five Below — Local services in Hickory

Didn't impress me, but I was the oldest person there. If you need to get a charging or data cable quick, they had a 1/4 of a wall with cables of numerous ends and lengths from 5 to 12 dollars. If you're a 30 years-old or younger person, they had some cheap makeup and toiletries for you, but not enough selection for a mature person I wouldn't think. Good place for art supplies and some craft stuff. Had a bunch of plastic China made toys, but it was so tight inside that going through there with a kid would be a real chore. Had a bunch of cheap seasonal stuff, pool noodles, flip-flops, plastic balls, and things along those lines. Basically, it was like a dollar store on steroids, and everything wasn't 5 or below. There were some more items off the boat for 10 and 12...

My kid wanted a toy claw machine. There were four total on the shelf labeled for $12. I got up front with it and it rang up as $25. I asked the girl upfront and told her they are on the shelf labeled as $12, but came up as $25. She went to the back and said there were none on the shelf and they have always rung up $25. Meanwhile while back there I heard them all get shoved off the shelf and magically "no longer on the shelf" I'll pay the difference, just don't lie to my face like you did and accept your mistakes and apologize for the mis information, instead this store basically called me a lier and lied to my face like I am dumb for what I say just few minutes...

The store is clean and neatly organized, for the most part. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the store, or any kind of fan, for that matter. Just no my preference for shopping. If I want to buy Dollar Tree™ type items, I will just go to Dollar Tree™ to shop instead of paying $5.00 for $1.50 products. Sorry, but that's just how I see the store, itself. My review does not reflect ANY thoughts or opinions about any of the staff or the Hickory location. It's a review, more or less, of the entire chain of stores. The Hickory staff is actually very friendly and accommodating. 4⭐s, just for the Hickory store employees, but 3⭐s for the Corporate Chain of Five...
