Target — Local services in Hickory

I just had a horrible experience at this store. I had bought a bike for my daughter here for Christmas, but she didnt ride it for a few months. When she started riding something didnt seem quite right but she kept using it for a month or 2. Finally one day as she was riding it stopped working and threw her from the bike. When I looked the bike over with a friend we found that Target assembled the bike incorrectly and that was why it malfunctioned. My wife called the specific store and was told they have someone that builds/repairs them. I brought it in today with receipt and explained all this, and the team lead told me there was nothing Target could do. She said they did not have someone that worked on the bikes and when I asked how their bikes were assembled for sale she said, well someone does come in and builds them but only once a month and she could not take my bike back to be checked because it was out of the return window and had been used. I showed her how it was wrongly assembled and she accused me of lying and disassembling the bike myself, which I could not do. I understand that the bike is outside the return window, but knowing that Target was the blame for the error that caused my 9 year old to get hurt and have a bike that doesnt work and to be told there was nothing they could do, not even apologize, is very insulting and wrong. I had a very weird experience my first time shopping here today. Just really odd treatment from the workers here, they all seemed either really stuck up or didn't want to be there.

When I began shopping one of the workers walked very slowly in front of my cart cutting me off to where I had to stop abruptly. I stared at her wishing she would walk faster and she smiled at me and said "I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day" while still walking very slowly blocking my path. It was very weird and made me uncomfortable.

Also when I was checking out there were only two lines open. I went to the self-checkout which was uncomfortable. Another employee watched me like a hawk the whole time like I was going to steal something. When I went to hit the "pay" button she darted in so fast it startled me. She asked if I needed help with a bag of Epsom salts I had forgotten to scan under my cart. I apologized since I had forgotten about it. She called me "sweetie" about 3 times while scanning it for me and putting it back under my cart. It sounds nice in writing but I swear her manner was very abrupt and extremely passive aggressive.

I think a lot of the people working here are maybe right out of high school and overcaffinated? In any case I'll be going to Walmart next time I just want to be left alone when I am doing my shopping. I haven't been to the Walmart yet but hopefully it will be less jarring than my...

I go to this Target on a pretty regular basis, I still somewhat prefer it to Walmart although it has gone downhill over the last couple of years. I still come here often as its one of the most convenient ways to get my baby formula and find her cute clothing, and I love their home goods (linens, organizational products, ect)

HOWEVER I ordered a drive-up order for the first time on March 27. The order was for $55 and as part of a promotion I was to get a $15 gift card credit to my Target Circle. Through this one time need for a quick drive up purchase I was not only charged for the $55 order, the $15.00 promotional "gift card" was also charged to my credit card as well as an additional $40.83 charge. I contacted the Hickory Target with no resolution as to why I was seeing these charges. I disputed the additional charges ($15 & $40) with my bank but after an investigation was told the $40.83 charge originated from the Target and they suggested I file a police report. I don't know what's happening with this store but Ive spent over 2,000 in this store since January and have no issues paying for what I actually owe.
