Honestly after a recent trip to the local Gamestop it becomes obvious why the company is struggling. First off I haven't been to Gamestop in a couple of years but my son wanted me to take him so he could buy a new game. As for my issues with this recent trip I won't be returning to Gamestop again.
The first issue is the sales associate added a protection plan to the game without asking if I wanted it. For something that should be optional I shouldn't be forced to buy a protection plan but here we are with a dirty business practice.
Second is the price, which was the normal price for a new game so nothing was thought about it to begin with but immediately after the trip to Gamestop we visited another retail store near by that had the exact same game for a far lesser price. Why visit a shop that can't even have competitive pricing with a store that is within walking distance.
All in all, what once was my go to video game shop in my youth and a place that I've taken my children many times over the years it is apparent that we no longer need Gamestop. With so many other big box stores in the area that sale the same products at better prices and online stores that can ship the specialty products within a couple of days why do we need a store that forces additional charges and fails to remain...

After a couple failed attempts to order online, that I won't describe, customer service suggested I go in-store and place order to be shipped to me. After she rang me up, I was told it couldn't be shipped out. I actually had to ask her to elaborate but she had no answer. So i asked.. I asked, she didn't suggest,.. if I could have it shipped to the store but that also didn't work. She started at me like she just wanted me to go away actually. So I asked if they had the console I wanted and they had something similar. So I ended up purchasing PS4 PRO , which I asked twice if it was a PRO, but when I got home and opened, it was original, not the pro. I got in my car and left to go pickup which was a 45 min drive for me. I called the whole way there and no one would answer the phone.
