I had went to use their restroom because some of the other restrooms on the strip were out of order and I had asked an associate beforehand if it would be okay if I used their restroom and was told that was no problem and then when I came out of the restroom I was a foot away from the door walking out when I was stopped by a different associate who asked me aggressively “can I help you?!” and I told her no I had just used the bathroom because many of the other restrooms were out of order to which she responded “ We don’t have a public bathroom do not come back here and do not send people to come here to use our bathroom why would you come here there are other places for you to go don’t come here” i apologized and told her I’m sorry another lady had told me I could use the restroom and yesterday I helped a different lady with something in the store and she offered me a free drink and said it was no problem for me to use the restroom so I thought it wasn’t a big deal. I was horribly mistaken, the lady who last spoke to me was extremely rude and was not understanding at all. She acted like I was stealing as I was walking out of the door and questioning why I needed to use the restroom… I have a medical condition which makes it to where I need access to a bathroom at all times and I could not believe that I was treated to aggressively over using their restroom. I hope that in the future that woman is more understanding and able to be kind to people who have done...
Read moreWhere to start!?! I came in as a walk in for some towels to have custom embroidered for gifts. I spent all of 5 mins with the embroidery associate before she quickly dismissed me to help these two Caucasian gentlemen in suits with an handkerchief. She handed me to another associate who was not trained in embroidery. I was hurried to the register to pay for everything in full plus some fees. A few days later my receive a text from the embroidery associate about my order, after an exchange of texts I was told “well that’s larger than what I thought and there will be an additional charge” Imagine my surprise, this obviously could’ve all been avoided if she actually spent more than 5 mins with me before attending the men in suits. I guess in highland park, race and dress code really matters even when it’s not a high end store.. I called to speak with the manager to cancel my order and explain in detail my experience. Today I was partially refunded because and I quote “we’re not going to refund the digital charge, that’s a fee we pay he’s paying for it” - a statement from the manager that the owner told her, when I asked her even after my experience I’m being charged?. I collected my towels, told her thank you and exited the store. You know I really go out of my way to shop and support small locally owned businesses, I guess this time It was I was just the wrong color in gym clothes in the wrong area of town.. forgetting this...
Read moreThis store reminds me of how prejudice judgment still exists. If you are not an elitist you will be treated with the upmost disrespect. Several of my peers have gone to this establishment and have been followed around very closely as if they are stealing (and I promise, we have money). I went in and requested a FREE plastic utensil and was dismissed because I didn’t purchase anything from their store. I don’t mind not getting said item but it was the way they look disgusted while telling me off. I think their entire staff needs some training on racial profiling and to reevaluate how they treat their customers. Very rarely do I write bad reviews because business has it’s ups and downs and I take everything with a grain of salt but this business has proven time after time that if you don’t fit their profile of a certain race and class, they won’t even look your direction. I will not be recommending them going forward and letting others know how poor of an...
