If you are Latino/Hispanic BEWARE, DO NOT come here. Spend your money at another business that respects and appreciates customers of all backgrounds and cultures. Not worth the rude and horrible customer service. Came in on Sunday evening about 30 minutes before closing time with my sister. There were 2 ladies working behind the counter, a young Hispanic lady and an African American lady. At first we were attended by the Hispanic young lady which was friendly but didn't give us any details about what they had, pricing, menus, etc. and then left to clean. The African American lady stepped in to attend us. She was extremely rude to us right off the bat. To any questions about the candy selection, she would respond with a horrible attitude to the point where it sounded like she was talking down to us (with eye rolls included). For instance, when my sister replied thinking that the employee, Brenna, was talking to her, Brenna rudely said "I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to her." The WHOLE 20 minutes that we spent in there, there were other patrons that were Caucasian that she didn't speak to in the way that she spoke to us. I hate to pull the race card, but it's the ONLY thing that I could think of why she would be extremely rude to us. We had done nothing to her and were pleasant, paying customers. We felt humiliated and disgusted. Being that this place is minority owned, we wanted to support this small business. But we left utterly disgusted with the customer service. On top of that, she didn't give us our correct order. When my sister went back to ask about the missing item that she initially ordered, Brenna had my sister bring back the bag to "check" the bag and see if it was in there insinuating that we stole something or wanted something for free. When she looked up the receipt, she hadn't given us the missing item because she hadn't even charged for it in the first place. Just UTTERLY humiliating coming from a minority stand point. Brenna did give my sister the item for free but too little too late. She didn't even apologize for her mistake!! We have NEVER been treated like this at any other business, let alone a MINORITY owned small business.
To the owners: re-train your employees. You're losing business because of the rude and uncaring customer service. Chocolates are very good quality but not worth my money to be treated this way. I will be taking my...
Read moreI was in Dallas this past week, and I was looking for a sweet treat after dinner. I stumbled up on this place and fell in love with the ambience upon walking into the establishment. The staff was nice and cordial while busily working behind the counter, getting orders prepared. There were people sitting at the quaint, bistro like tables enjoying their coffees, cakes and desserts while studying and a couple in a corner having a private conversation while enjoying each others presence. There are different candies and beautiful tableware everywhere. There’s even a section where you can just have a small tea luncheon with with a few guests and they even have live music nights in this amazing jazz like room with a stage. It all looked wonderful!
However, one thing really caught me by surprise. There was an older lady who was sitting outside of the establishment as I walked in and she came in a few minutes after me and headed to table near the front entrance where customers can make their own hot tea. She was asked by a male the staff if she wanted anything to eat and she said yes and told him while she finished up her tea and headed out the door to go back to where she was sitting. As she left, the male staff picked up a few chocolates that she requested and packed them up in a small beautifully wrapped box to give to her and walked it outside to her. It was one of the most humane things that I had seen that day. A person was seen for who they were as a human, and not by the circumstances life brought to them. I will definitely be coming back to this place. I have no problem spending my money here .
PS: I had the salted caramel chocolate cake with a scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream and a rich cappuccino with an extra shot of...
Read moreI was interested in hosting my baby shower at Chocolate Secrets, but my experience with their communication and professionalism was extremely disappointing.
I called multiple times for weeks, and either the calls went to voicemail or I was connected with someone with a poor phone connection who was unable to answer basic questions. My information was taken down, but no one ever called or emailed me back. I filled out two inquiries on their website. I visited the location in person twice, hoping to speak with someone about hosting an event. The first time, there was only one employee working, and it took a long time just to get a word with her. She told me I needed to speak with the coordinator, but I had already tried that over the phone, and she, too, could not answer my basic questions. She directed me to the website for information, but it did not include the details I needed about pricing, menu accommodations and guest count.
On a second visit, the same pattern occurred: my information was taken, but no one ever reached out and vague responses were provided.
Overall, the lack of follow-up, vague responses, and inability to provide basic event information show a clear lack of organization as a business and professionalism. I cannot trust them to handle an important life event. It’s unfortunate because I was prepared to spend a significant amount given the size of my event. I’m genuinely shocked at how highly this place is reviewed given my poor experience.
On top of that, most of their desserts on display are not labeled and when I asked the employee what was inside one of the truffles, she didn’t know. I just don’t...
