I had dropped my wife off at the grocery store to pick up a few items and told her Iâd run to pick up my prescription. There were multiple cars in the drive through so I went in. The counter had no customers and 7 people working behind it. Thinking I was in luck until I realized they now have a kiosk in which customers have to check in, in order to get our prescriptions. There were 2 people in front of me, and 6 people standing and waiting for their names to be called. 8 minutes later, I was checked in, I waited 10 more minutes, and not one personâs name had been called.
Disgusted, I left to pick up my wife who was standing outside of the grocery store waiting for me. We get home and 20 minutes after I had checked in, and 28 minutes after I walked up to the pharmacy, I got a text that I could now walk to the counter. I asked that we be removed from the auto-refill within the system and we are immediately switching pharmacies.
How making customers do extra work rather than just stating our names is ridiculous. The people that work there are much faster typing on a keyboard than we are on a giant iPad. The employee then still has to look at a screen before getting the prescription, so the time savings for them is basically nil and it increases time for the customers. Spending thousands of dollars to install crap that makes people want to go elsewhere seems like a moronic decision by Walgreens senior management. Hopefully no one got a big yearly bonus for this...
   Read moreCustomer experience and quality has gone down here. My Doctor has given 2 prescriptions for same medicine by mistake. Pharmacy refused to issue one medication. They didnât give a proper explanation and I didnât understand as why they had to delay as it was only Qty difference. I had to push further with them and Manager and then they explained the actual reason that the directions of max tablets per day were different in 2 prescriptions. Phone tag between pharmacy & Doctor office didnât work. I had to go to my Doctorâs office to get it resolved. Understand the pharmacy limitation but they misguided me initially about 2 different Qtys rather than mentioning that the root issue was 2 different conflicting directions. The Manager had to step in and explain the legal aspect of it. Please educate your customers better in first attempt if possible.I was in pain and gout attack and wanted this emergency medicine and so was pushing for it. And their lack of clear communication to me was frustrating. After 30 mins wait, I reached out to Manager to get proper clarification. Request staff to understand that I am a regular local customer for past 2 years and never had to call for Manager. So please understand if someone is in pain and is trying to seek clarifications then please show some empathy rather than acting as bureaucratic robots.    Read moreI have had 2 issues with this pharmacy in the last month. Today I went to pick up my sonâs prescriptions, and the girl said my insurance doesnât cover any of it. She told me that Gerber soothe probiotics was going to be $63, and I said I thought that one was over the counter and the other was prescription. She continued to argue with me, so I told her okay I will take both. Then she tells me they donât even have either of them. I asked if there was another Walgreens near that does have the prescription I need for my son. She told me I needed to call around and find the one that has my prescription, and have them call me. I have NEVER had to do that. I call the next closest Walgreens and the guy was so nice and helpful. He didnât have it either, but said he could see the Walgreens in his computer that does have the prescription. He transferred me to the place I needed to go to. That guy was extremely nice, and told me the Gerber probiotics was over the counter and I didnât have to pay $63 for it. I was also able to get my prescription without having to call more pharmacies. This is the second time Iâve had a problem with that girl at the drive thru in the last month because she just didnât want to help, so I will be switching pharmacies.
