My boyfriend and I have visited this location a total of three times. The first time, the service was amazing. No issues and our pottery was ready very quick. Pricey, but a good experience.
Our second trip was a few months later. We come in around 4 in the afternoon hoping to spend a few hours here painting one of our own sculptures. They didn’t allow us to paint our sculpture, so we decided to just get one of theirs. It was Sunday so they were closing awfully early at 6. Despite being there 2 hours before closing, the 2 staff members were already cleaning up early and pressuring people to leave. When it was actually time to close we were barely a third of the way finished with our sculpture , so they told us we could leave it on the table and come back anytime to finish it free of charge. We went to pay afterwards and were charged double.
The next day, we returned to finish our sculpture. Only one staff member was there and it took him a long time to come out of the back. When he finally did and we asked about our sculpture from yesterday, he said that he had already put it in the kiln. This is despite the fact that it was obviously not even halfway done and he said yesterday that we could come back to finish it before they would fire it. He said that he would fire it in the kiln tonight so that we could come get our unfinished sculpture tomorrow, leading us to question why he couldn’t have just gotten it out of the kiln for us to finish if he hadn’t fired it yet. If we do come back, which we probably won’t. We won’t be picking up our unfinished sculpture and we will be requesting a refund or just a new sculpture to start with
Overall, it’s a really good idea but service and management is hit or miss and could...
Read moreWow. I just saw another review of a similar situation that happened to us. My friend & her daughter (they're African American) & I go to this place to have fun. When my friend talks to them without even saying if she had a reservation or not, they immediately try to turn her away. My friend of course is confused, asking what the process was to this place, and the woman in front starts borderline yelling at her that they couldn't help her, saying they don't have any availability and she'll "need to go somewhere else". That's where I step in, and the demeanor COMPLETELY changed. The lady was super kind and friendly and I stated the situation, and she was only speaking with me and not my friend, and she said she could see us after all. I asked my friend if she wanted to leave, but her daughter was so excited to paint that we only stayed for her to paint something. The ENTIRE time we're there, the lady was just GLARING at my friend and daughter. They weren't being loud, being rude, they were just giggling while painting. The hatred in their eyes was intense. I asked my friend numerous times if she wanted to go, but she said no cause her daughter was having fun. The lady kept coming to our table and continously talked down to them, even stating that her 3 year old daughter was PAINTING WRONG & had an attitude about it. SHE'S FREAKING 3 YEARS OLD. But when I would ask a question she was ultimate costumer service. It's kinda hard to pretend what the issue was at that point. The lady at one point stated we couldn't have specific colors, but yet the other tables had the colors we weren't allowed to have. We left asap. Don't come here if you're an ethnic person. And maybe to the owner don't hire...
Read moreI went to the studio location in Highland Village yesterday with another mom and our two 6 yr old daughters. Our children are very well behaved and calm girls, no running around or anything like that. The lady working in the studio seemed totally bothered that we were there and made sure we felt the least welcome. I walk in, she tells me not to touch anything (I get it) and then gives me NO further instructions (its my first time there btw). I pick up the pottery I want to paint and she said “I’ll pick it up and tell you the price” in a very rude tone. After we sat down to pick our colors, she took our palettes and I suggested we put our names on it since there were 4 people on the same table, she walked off. Comes back with the colors and didn’t know which palette belonged to who (surprise) 🤦🏻♀️. Then every time we asked for a refill on a color or more water to clean out brushes (only once we asked for anything) she was so flustered and said “I will but in a minute!” and walked off…the lady was literally so rude and unpleasant, I lost all desire to be there and just decided not to paint my piece and helped my daughter finish hers. The whole experience was disappointing and stressful for something that was supposed to be relaxing. I believed the lady was overwhelmed with the amount of people that were there and took it out on the customers. I spent $50 to be treated like I was an inconvenience for 2 hrs, nope. I won’t...
