My wife and I were celebrating our anniversary a couple weeks early. With kids and an elderly MIL, you take the time when it presents itself.

We were seated within minutes of our reservation. The person who seated us wished us a happy anniversary. Tristan our server, was at our table within a minute or so to take out drink orders and fill out water glasses. I had their version of an Old Fashioned with muddled berries. My wife does not drink so had a Mocktai called the Designated Driver. Both were fantastic. Atmosphere was nice and romantic. Even in the wide open, we felt secluded in our little corner.

For appetizers, my mom ife had escargot, which she said was perfect. I had crab cakes, which were also cooked perfectly. Nice crispy crust on the outside and soft crab inside.

For dinner I had the 20oz Bone in Ribeye and my wife had the Combo For One (South African Lobster Tail and 6oz steak fillet). Both steaks cooked to the perfect medium rare and served HOT, which is seemingly hard to do at other steak houses we've been to. Wife says the lobster and butter sauce were excellent.

For the steaks, they were served with two sides. Now, I'm not sorry to say that I judge a steak by its own merits. A great steak will be a great steak without any type of help. Salt and Pepper to compliment during cooking is all they should need. I'm happy to say that both steaks were spectacular! Neither steak made us even consider the sauces. Both were extremely tender with good mouth feel and delicate chew. Simply great steaks and up there or exceeding any of the well known steakhouses in Texas.

Dessert was amazing. We had creme brulee and the chocolate souffle. Both were made again...to perfect. There's a theme, I know. Everything was done so perfectly, I wondered where the catch would be...

No catch found. Everything was priced on menu, so I wasn't shocked by the bill. For everything we had, how fast our server Tristan was, and finally how perfect everything was made the price well worth it. 10/10...

Update: We were contacted by the server and she apologized for the poor experience. The staff really went above and beyond to make it right by delivering us a fresh meal. Totally not expected but very much appreciated. Thank you!!

Original Review: Absolutely dissapointed in the overall experience and service. I want to make it clear that the food was phenomenal, compliments to the kitchen staff.

Its been 3 months since my wife and I have been out due to having a baby. It was my wifes birthday today. I spent days researching a great place to take her. I wanted to make sure we had a great time.

We made a reservation for 645 and we were not sat until 745. People who showed up after our reservation were seated before us. I made a note that we were celebrating a birthday and not a single person mentioned anything, no acknowledgement whatsoever.

Our server, Christy S. did not ask if we were celebrating anything, she did not offer the specials, and she was not very friendly. The table next to us, however, was offered the specials, and even had a birthday desert brought out with a candle. When i mentioned it was my wifes birthday our server said, "Oh, yes we will do something special". They brought out a desert with no candle and just set it down. No congrats. No "Happy Birthday". No candle like the table next to us. A bit dissapointing. I honestly would have brought my own damn candle if you needed it.

Im pretty upset with the poor service recieved by Christy S., especially since the reviews are off the charts on this place. I was so pumped to bring my wife here! And what a let down!! Its not hard to ask a few questions and to offer the specials and ask if everything is ok. Honestly, im just dissapointed in the customer service.

Our food was absolutely to die for, which makes it all the more heartbreaking that the service...

Fantastic experience tonight! Really impressed, dinner was outstanding. The wait staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. The atmosphere was really great... I wasn't sure what to expect from the outside of the building, but once we got inside I really enjoyed the ambiance & overall atmosphere.

Now on to the food... Wow! I thoroughly enjoyed my steak. It was cooked correctly, had a great seared crust on it, and was a nice cut. Flavorful, and handled well by the kitchen. There was a sauce, which always makes me a little nervous (afraid they're trying to cover up mediocrity), but it was NOT drenched in it... It was subtle, an embellishment. And it worked well! Great flavor, and portioned such that I could get some when I wanted it, but had plenty of bites without any sauce too.

The wedge salad was good. Nothing extraordinary, but I definitely enjoyed it. The asparagus was cooked au dente, and was really tasty. I wish the spears would have been a little bigger, or that there had been a few more of them, but they were great. The mashed potatoes were good as well. Again, nothing over the top or mind blowing, but I ate them all happily.

The creme brulee was really good. Nice crust, great color, fresh strawberries & raspberries, and the custard itself was very tasty. Lastly, the cappuccino was actually one of my favorites. Great flavor, and not an overwhelming amount of foam... Too often you get lots of foam with a little espresso. This had a nice ratio - I actually ordered a second!

I'll be back for sure... Great vibes for a nice date. Highly recommend!

Edit: Corrected a few typos, most importantly that the steak was NOT...

From the moment we walked into Bistecca – An Italian Steakhouse, we were greeted at the door with genuine warmth and professionalism. The service throughout the evening was seamless—attentive without ever being intrusive—and truly set the tone for a remarkable dining experience. Our server stood out immediately for his deep knowledge of the menu and ability to guide us through it with helpful, thoughtful recommendations. When we discussed dessert, he explained how everything was made from scratch and even let us know ahead of time that if someone ordered the cake, he would walk it by our table so we could see it. That attention to detail and transparency added a fun and personal touch—and yes, it definitely convinced us to order it! He also went above and beyond to ensure we had a comfortable table outside to enjoy cigars after our meal, and throughout the evening, he and the entire team delivered incredible service without us even realizing just how well we were being taken care of in the moment. Each dish we ordered was absolutely delicious; you can tell it was expertly crafted and each dish was well-portioned. Given the level of hospitality and culinary execution, it’s genuinely surprising that this restaurant isn’t rated higher than four stars by some reviewers. Bistecca easily offers some of the best service we’ve experienced in the DFW industry. I highly recommend Bistecca to anyone looking for not just a great meal, but a complete and elevated dining experience. This is a place where every detail matters.

My wife and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Bistecca and we had the most exquisite dining experience, ever. In short, it was magnificent in every aspect. We were seated promptly in a quiet romantic corner table. Kiley, our waitress, was perfectly attentive throughout the evening serving our 7-course meal (tomato soup, tenderloin on toast, seared tuna, sea bass, pork, steak Salerno, and chocolate dessert). We especially enjoyed how she presented/introduced every item, which only served to heighted our anticipation for the next amazing item. Each course was elegantly plated and resembled a piece of art, although that never kept us from devouring every morsel. And lastly, a review, such as this would not be complete without referencing how special Chef Morris and Stacey, personally made us feel. They were amazing and gracious hosts whose personal attention made the evening truly memorable. In summation, this was the very definition of “Exquisite Dining”. If you have a special occasion or a special celebration or just want a remarkable meal exquisitely prepared and skillfully served in a cozy dining room where you do not have to shout to be heard, I cannot think of a better restaurant to recommend. We will happily drive from Plano passing many other alleged 5-star restaurants along the way to dine here again! It is that remarkable. To that end we are already planning our return visit. I hope this review helps.

Good food, iffy service. We made a reservation for 8 and we were sat quickly. I stayed with their apple pie dessert martini and the she-crab soup. Both were delicious! That soup was so rich and creamy with nice chunks of crab mixed it. I would have ate a whole pot of that stuff! I ordered the sea bass while my dad and sister ordered the wagyu short ribs. They did not skimp on the amount of beef served to them! They definitely got a large serving! The sea bass was ok to me. Cooked well but the sweet sauce they put on it, I want a fan of. I'm not going to blame them for my taste buds though. The service however left something to be desired. Our waitress kept disappearing. I'm not sure if she was overwhelmed or not. She had another party of 8 she was attending to. However, she dropped our appetizers and left without ever taking our meal order. It was about another 10 to 15 minutes after everyone finished off their appetizers before she came back to the table to take our order. Our dinner took 2 and a half hours and most of that was waiting for our waitress to reappear to take orders. Food was delicious, absolutely worth it but the service could have been a little better.
