ALDI — Local services in Hillsborough

I have been shopping at Aldi for years, and this Aldi since it opened last year. I live in Mebane and am so glad to have one closer than Burlington.

There have only been a few shopping trips where I have left without everything on my list, maybe enough to count on one hand. The store is normally stocked pretty well and I can find everything that I need.

I really love the prices at Aldi. Although they have gone up recently due to inflation, they are still a lot cheaper than other grocery stores. I have tried doing my same grocery shopping at Food Lion and at Walmart and have spent roughly about $10-14 than I would have at Aldi.

Although they don’t carry many name brands and mostly private label items, their products are pretty good. The only thing I really don’t buy is the produce, because the majority of it comes in a bulk package and it goes bad fairly quickly.

I have been pleased with most ALDIs I have shopped at. This store however seems to have issues. More than once I have found the meat shelves completely empty because of the refrigerators were out of service. The store is rather small and often the shelves are not stocked. At my last visit they only had a handful of items on one isle, no carrots, no mushrooms, and one cashier…. Yes, I am capable of using the self check out. When the lines have more people than the isles you have a problem. I truly hope they get their act together. I am closer to this store however I will travel to Burlington rather than have only half of my grocery list completed and have to go to a second grocery store for the remaining items. That makes no sense and is very inconvenient. My fingers...

Lovely Aldis, same appearance as all. I was very surprised that all prices were not less than Walmart or even some items at Food Lion except these are not all brand names we know. Items appear more than in Burlington for some reason. Produce is a better value though because it's fresh & affordable and though 4 chicken breasts were 13.94 they were massive... like Turkey breasts. I'm hoping the sales make the wait worth it. But if you thought you'd save money here.... not so much. You'll save about 20-45 cents an item for a brand you never heard of. Oh and there are only 2 manned registers others are self check and if you've never been to aldi's...
