â 1-Star Review for Kay Jewelers (Hinesville, GA Location) Extremely disappointing and deceptive experience.
I could not believe (or did not want to believe) all of the HORRIBE national reviews about KAY Jewelers- until this experience!!
I opened a Kay Jewelers credit card with an excellent credit score of 815, expecting transparency and professionalism. I was promised that no charges would be made until my ring arrived, and that a 10% discount would be applied later. The associate refused to provide this in writing, yet assured me everything would be adjusted.
Without my knowledge or approval, they charged nearly $4,000 to my account, utilizing over 50% of my $8,500 credit limit the same day I opened the card. I only discovered the charge afterward and called the store to request an explanation.
The person I spoke toâallegedly the "boss"âwas rude, dismissive, and refused to answer basic questions, including who authorized the charge and why no discount was applied. The call lasted barely a minute before she hung up on me after sarcastically saying "Fine, we will just cancel your order-, "Have a nice day." The call was under a minute long.
When I called back, another associate refused to give me the name of this "boss" or transfer the call. They falsely claimed we were "disconnected" (despite that fact that she concluded the conversation with "have a nice day."
This behavior is unethical, unprofessional, and unacceptable, especially for a national jewelry chain. I feel misled, financially exploited, and completely disregarded as a customer. Verbal promises with no accountability, hidden charges, and refusal to take responsibility is no way to treat anyoneâespecially someone trusting your store with thousands of dollars.
I will never shop at Kayâs again and strongly urge others to proceed with caution, especially at the Hinesville, GA location. If you value honesty, respect, and transparencyâthis is not the place for you.
Fortunately, despite their efforts to charge me, their own lack of inventory awareness forced them to cancel my order along with my $499 service plan. At least now, I might get my $4000 back. Get better, Kay Jewelers!
Note to Owner- Thatâs it? Thatâs your resolution? How long did that sentence take you to write? Your brief response to this unnecessary situation comes across as a desperate attempt to garner the trust of those who are unaware of your deceptive practices. Most of your staff are rude, insensitive and disrespectful. Your blurb of an âapologyâ ironically speaks volumes about your character. When corporate comes to visit, I hope you come up with something better. -...
Read moreShort version: I ordered a ring that was not in the store. Kays didn't actually order it. When we called about it a second time, the sales rep fixed the problem by discounting another ring.
Longer version:
I went to Kay Jewelers to buy a ring at Black Friday prices ($40) from the advertisement. They were out of stock for that ring, so I had to order it from a sales rep in the store. I was told I would be called when it arrived within the next two weeks.
Two weeks went by, and I called for an order update. It had not arrived in the store yet. The sales rep said she would call or e-mail met once she figured out what the hold up was. She never followed up with me.
I called the store again 12/18 to check up on this ring. I was informed it was no longer available.
"What do you mean 'no longer available,'" I asked, "I ordered this ring when it was available."
"I'm sorry, sir. There is nothing further we can do to help you," the male rep replied.
"This is a screw up that was made by your store. I have a wife that is expecting a ring for Christmas which was ordered over a month before the holiday."
The male offered to call me back. When they called back, they offered a double halo for the same price. But, we had to check it out today as they would not hold it.
When we came in, we weren't crazy about it, but they significantly discounted the ring because of the trouble caused by the screw up. The situation would have been better had they ordered the ring the first time, but it ended much better than it could have thanks to the sales...
Read moreTina completely ruined my experience picking up my new wedding set. My husband picked up my ring after being sized and I thought it was sized too big. It was literally spinning on my finger. I went in less than twenty minutes after it being picked up and asked for them to check the sizing for me. Tina blew me off and proceeded to stand in the back and repeat âare you sending it out, are you resizing it, are you resizing itâ over and over and over all while being completely rude and acting like I was being an inconvenience to her. When I said I wasnât sure she proceeded to roll her eyes and go to the back. The lady who needed up helping me, Danielle, was very sweet and understanding that I was upset. She helped me put s guard on it until I decided what I wanted to do about the sizing. While Danielle was putting the guard on for me, Tina huffed and puffed in the background all while repeating the same thing about resizing it again. When I thanked Danielle and told her how helpful she was Tina laughed. I asked for Tinaâs name and she said âwhyâ and proceed to again roll her eyes and act very rudely. I would rather sell my new ring than ever step foot back into this store. Iâve never experienced a place where you are spending large amounts of money on something just for the staff to treat you like garbage. Do not spend...
