I actually love Surcheros but I will never eat there again. I use to eat there weekly and brag about them to everyone ! Last month I decided to treat my coworkers and order it on doordash we were busy and couldn’t leave. Got the order, I was so embarrassed. The portion size was super small then what I normally get. I let that slide. I started eating my bowl first and realized it tasted different, (mind you I get the same thing every time !) I was missing about 3 ingredients. I continued to eat it. Then my coworkers realized they were missing ingredients in theirs too. I had apologized and told them that surcheros never been like this. So I called just to let them know hey our bowls were missing ingredients. They told me I could bring them up there but because we had eaten most of it that there was nothing they can do . I asked to speak to the manager and they placed me on a really long hold. Soon, the general manager returned and said she reviewed the cameras and called me a liar and it was nothing she could do and that her employee did his job. I even told her I had pictures to prove it. She absolutely made me feel low of the lowest. I mean just nasty! I had her on speakerphone and customers and our employees heard how she spoke to Me and was disgusted. I was a loyal customer that came in weekly with my kids. Spent at least 50+ dollars EVERYTIME ! We have a Qdoba on base and I still decided to drive alllll the way there and spend my money and be loyal to surcheros ! NEVER AGAIN. And I stopped referring people, especially our military community and they are aware of this incident. It really sucks fighting two diseases and this how I got my protein in every week! Read moreOn Sept. 27 my husband went into Surcheros, ordered his food and proceeded to the cashier. His order came to $10.68. My husband gave the cashier $10"s and his debit card for the .68. and left. The next day my husband asked for a balance on our account and that is when I noticed a $10 charge on my bank statement and a overdraft charge. I immediately called my husband, he brought me the receipt, i went to the restaurant and spoke with the manager Nairut...she called the owner and they said they would not give me my overdraft fee back,,she did refund me the $10 and I told her I would try to get it back from my bank. but Nairut also stated that the cashier had just started and was inexperienced. Spoke to the bank and because it was not their fault they will not refund back to my account. So my question is Why do I have to eat a $37.50 fee because the cashier was not fully trained enough to run the cash register? That was money I had put aside for bills and now I am short because of something that was not my fault.
Ok so I posted over a week about my experience and because it was not a favorable one, I have not gotten a response. I can truly say that I am sadly disappointed that the owners of this establishment did not or will not respond to me and try to rectify the fact that their employee did not have full knowledge of how to use the POS and caused me $40 for a $10 meal. I eat at Surcheros quite often in my hometown and usually have a good experience. Unfortunately, my visit to this location left me extremely disappointed.
First, the restaurant was not clean. The serving area had food scattered everywhere, and the overall hygiene was lacking. The employee I encountered displayed uncaring and unprofessional behavior, engaging in unsanitary practices. I observed him using a metal utensil lid to tap off rice into the trash can, which is unacceptable for maintaining food safety standards.
Additionally, the employee's appearance was not up to par. His pants were sagging to the point where we could see his underwear. This is simply unacceptable in a workplace setting.
After reading other reviews, it is evident that this location suffers from a lack of management oversight and accountability. The consistent issues indicate that the management doesn't seem to care about maintaining basic standards.
