Edit: still have rude staff and a mentally disabled mask policy. STOP COMING HERE GUYS. Let them see what rude employees and fear mongering does to a business. I'd give 5 stars because good drinks but I had a very frustrating experience today with one of the staff, and generally they are not friendly (they all seem like they hate their life and job) but really that never bothered me too much. Always lots of tension in there, not friendly or happy for a place that sells sweets. Today it was myself and two co-workers, no one else is in the shop except employees behind the glass. My mask accidently slipped down my face (nose and lips) and all of a second later some chick with short hair and glasses gets on the SPEAKER and says "uh, mamn. I need you to put your mask on"...errrr..okay? Not a problem! It just slipped, but I nod. Now i'm mid throwing something in the trash, my hands are full on one side, the other on the trash. She just stares at me like I'm being disobedient! Looks at me like a child who didn't listen to mommy say no. Annoying, but whatever. I put my mask back on, that is no issue. Two minutes later myself and my two co-workers have our drinks, I myself slide my mask down (as i'm by the door, getting ready to leave) AND IM DRINKING THE DRINK THE ESTABLISHMENT JUST SOLD ME AND SHE SNAPS AT ME AGAIN "i told you to put on your mask in here". I'm literally taking a sip of the drink!! Covid19 is serious, and should be taken as such, but this lunatic was beyond annoying. Read the CDC guidelines; masks should be on in food establishments "WHEN NOT ACTIVELY EATING OR DRINKING" I about snapped on your employee, so i'm being a keyboard warrior here instead.

3 stars because best boba in town, awsome food, very clean, but angry employees. Feels like tension and egg shells in there, so I no longer want to return, and I was a regular. My co-workers were also annoyed and...

If you’re looking for a master class in how not to run a business, Polar Sweets has you covered. From the moment you walk in, the rude and condescending signs let you know exactly what kind of experience you’re about to have. The bathrooms? Don’t bother — they’re either not available or so poorly managed you wouldn’t want to use them anyway.

They also have the nerve to charge $1 for water or even just ice. Because nothing says “we value our customers” like nickel-and-diming them for the most basic necessity.

The staff is almost entirely teenagers with attitudes bigger than the menu, and it shows. Honestly, this feels less like bad customer service and more like the result of a parenting strategy that peaks with “go stand in the corner and think about what you’ve done.” That lack of discipline and respect carries straight into the workplace, which is a shame — because it reflects not just on the kids, but on the business as a whole.

In short: poor management, poor service, and a poor excuse for a local spot. Unless you enjoy being treated like an inconvenience while paying extra for water, I’d suggest skipping Polar Sweets entirely.

Update: Found another one of their lovely signs. Because nothing says “great business” like doubling down on rudeness. Guess bad parenting really is a...

This is a first time visit review. The ice cream was good but the staff was underwhelming. It wasn't a welcoming atmosphere. They were all on their phones when entering the building and didn't have "welcoming looks" on their faces. More like that "Hurry and pick what you want.... you're interrupting my phone time" look. I don't recall anyone asking ME, personally, "Hi, may I help you?" They could have asked my wife while I looked around to see what I wanted. A staffer just followed me from glass to glass until I said "This, this, and this." My family and I sat in and immediately I whispered to my wife "There's no music or anything just silence. No ice shop ambiance." Some things looked as if they could be a tad cleaner. (Could be my OCD had kicked in.) After we had ordered, they all went back to their phones and some moved to the back until a mini crowd soon followed. I mean don't get me wrong... the ice cream was good! Just thought an ice cream shop would have a better ambiance for kids/family or whomever to experience and be more inviting, ESPECIALLY, if you're offering the sit in experience. Maybe I'm just getting old-ish. I MUST be! Alright good...

The boba here is great and the poke bowls have great potential! My boyfriend and I have been to this place a good bit now and have only had a problem with the “soupy” texture of the bowls that we’ve received. We have been requesting for the sauces to be on the side since they can be very heavy handed with them and the food becomes inedible when it’s completely drenched and wet. This time around, we asked for the sauces on the side, again, and did not receive the service we requested. The attached picture is the outcome we noticed when we arrived home. Outside of this consistent problem, when done correctly, the poke bowls are very satisfying.

This place was really good considering the lack of ice cream shops in Hinesville. The only other place that I know of is Cold Stone on Stewart. Comparing Polar Sweets to Cold Stone I would definitely choose Polar Sweets. Their ice cream was good and it's cool how they make it. Their prices BY FAR beat out Cold Stone. The regular ice cream cup is $6 each. My kids loved the flavors and it doesn't taste overly sweet like Cold Stone's ice cream. The only thing I did not like was the Cookie Dough topping. It was small and it tastes like it was frozen and store bought. Other than that the environment is good and we will definitely be back.
