gtk — Restaurant in Hoboken

We love ordering the gobbler bowl, which is basically Thanksgiving in a bowl. So this year for Thanksgiving we were staying home and decided to order the GTK Thanksgiving special - Turkey, gravy, cornbread stuffing, Mac n cheese, veggies, mashed potatoes, and desert. When we arrived to pick up the order, it was unprepared. Somehow the order slipped through the cracks. It was 9pm the night before Thanksgiving. The man on duty in the kitchen, Josh, felt terrible about it and although they were preparing to close, he asked if we would wait 30 minutes while he prepared the meal. He through in some extra dessert as well. We were so grateful for his effort. The food was amazing. I checked the reviews here after ordering on seamless. Most were positive but the negative ones all mentioned the same thing about too salty and over seasoned. Even thought the reviews were posted months ago and the owner responded promising to rectify it I was still SHOCKED at how much damn salt was in this food. Even the vegetables were tooooo salty. Does anybody taste test this stuff? Whose idea is it to drench every grain of salt in 10x its weight in salt. How anyone thinks this tastes good is ridiculous. On top of that the jerk chicken was way too over seasoned. The seasoning ended up destroying the rest of the rice and vegetables I couldn’t finish the meal. Genuinely shocked that this passed testing as an actual dish to be served. If I were the owner I would ask the chef to show me how much salt hes using and why that much 😂 honestly I would scrap this dish and reinvent it...

Burnt wings

UPDATE: This was an Uber delivery. There is a fine line between char and burnt where you dont overwhelm the taste. Here, 50% of the order was burned on one side, I guess you forgot to flip after getting a definite char on them. Please feel free to compare the pic above with pics you have on Uber, doordash etc. There was no need to be arrogantly sarcastic on your last statement. Reviewers are here to help the business improve thier services and guide the customers right. A 5 star service is "Oh, we might have missed our mark on this order. Here is our contact, and we'd strive to make it right for you"
