Salon Gatto — Local services in Hoboken

Up until a few days ago, I was a blonde for the past 5 years (naturally brunette). When Covid hit, I stopped going to the salon (as did everyone) and when things started opening up again, it wasn't convenient for me to go into the city to get my hair done anymore. I tried going to other Hoboken salons and wasn't blown away with the color or experience. I couldn't find a stylist I would rave to other people about or that I would want to go back to, until a friend of mine recommended Danny at Salon Gatto.

I've been going to Danny for a year now and am always so happy to go to my appointments! He truly radiates and is always such a joy to talk with, and the way he does color is incomparable. He has continually given me the most beautiful shade of blonde that has grown out seamlessly between appointments and always gives great suggestions if I'm unsure about a tone that would look best.

This past weekend, Danny took me from full blonde back to my natural brunette color after 5 years and I couldn't be more thrilled! He knew exactly what to do to make me feel confident in my decision — keeping some babylights at the front for dimension and giving me the brunette hair of my dreams. He also always does a beautiful haircut. I can't recommend him enough!

I cannot say enough good things about Salon Gatto. I’ve been going here since I lived in Hoboken, and moved to the burbs ~8 years ago. I still drive back to Hoboken to get my hair cut and highlighted. Why would I spend so much time in the car and deal with Hoboken parking - because you don’t get the level of service ANYWHERE!

I had told Molly that a meeting got scheduled and I needed to be in the car by noon at the latest. She quietly whispered that to the salon manager and the assistant. As noon was approaching Amelia (salon manager) came over and checked me out while I was having the shine process. Jennifer (the assistant) was keeping me informed throughout on timing and that things were looking good - but I might not get a full blow up. But if I had 5 more mins she could ensure I was fully dried - she let me decide what was more important. Molly kept tabs on me the whole time and ensured I was comfortable and knew I would be out on time. She and Jennifer focused on getting me as dry as possible, but I chose to leave partially dry to ensure I was home in time for my meeting. Yes the salon is amazing, and the mini head massage and products they use are phenomenal- but what keeps me coming back? The people and attention to details (like my tight time crunch!) Hi! I moved to Hoboken last year and have been to Danny about 5 times now I believe?? He PERFECTED my blonde hair / haircuts this entire year. He is careful, patient, kind, extremely knowledgeable, and respects his craft. This past weekend, I had my appointment (which I am always looking forward to) with Danny but this time I wanted to go back to my roots, literally. I needed a break from my bright blonde - it was a long summer of swimming and weddings! - and felt I wanted a change and a new look. He took me so seriously when I told him this and checked every picture, gave me every option of how we can achieve what I wanted , made sure I liked it with the first shade before continuing.
