Giant Eagle Supermarket — Local services in Homestead

The app has improved a great deal and I'm easily located. I've called back after the shopper was done and had no problems having items replaced to my liking.

The curbside experience is usually great the [except Wednesday afternoons for some reason]

On a few items which have e-coupons I've learned it's best to click on 'no substitutes.' Each time I've arrived there's been ample spaces, and the personal shoppers have been great on the phone. With few exceptions, I haven't had to wait long at all to get my items.

I have a divider unit in the trunk for placement of separate foods, and every time without saying anything they've been placed correctly so I can take them out easier. I'm very happy and grateful for the great job this store and its staff have been doing during this pandemic. I loved the little touches like Casey putting a smiley face next to their name and still being waved and thanked by the person putting in the food items, even though wearing a mask. Id like to share an experience with you with Giant Eagle. For the most part people are nice and friendly there. But when it comes to service desk and mangement there. Went to go get a Western Union there. The older woman that was working the front desk was having difficulty. So i calmly and nicely asked for assustance. The front end mgr was accomidating. She explained what the problem was. So i left and understood. Went to go get another Western Union yesterday. The same woman i had the last issue with calls management on me with absolutely no provication. The front end manager procedes to tell me that im being refused because i had given them issue. When i couldnt be nicer. And actually spike to a manager to rectify the issue. Tried to talk to the manager Marcy and it was no better. Management at the homstead store could not be anymore unprofessional. Dare i say ghetto. Just a word of the wise if you have to deal with the service desk. Useless. went to this location for my bus pass one morning around 8:15 was told they wouldn't open until 9am once again, because customer service was short staffed. yet an employee whom i often see working (alone) during busy evenings, was hanging around behind that desk. then decided to grab some fruit before catching the bus to work. time to pay but only 1 line was open, which was a self checkout. meanwhile in another aisle some lanes over, 3 cashiers were huddled in casual conversation, as the screen announced my items did not scan correctly. left empty handed, wondering why the store was even open..since literally no one was working. fast forward months later buyer beware..unfortunately they are selling defective and/or expired toilet cleaning tablets which don't dissolve. sold at a slight discount but cost much more because my landlord had to get a plumber to check out problems that transpired...
