So, I’ve been using Walmart’s scan-and-go app for about four years. Four. Years. Not once in all that time have I had an issue—scan, count, checkout, let the cashier give my cart a cursory glance, and off I go. Smooth sailing. Until today.
All I wanted was to return two pairs of boys’ shorts. My 5-year-old decided they were too hard to unbutton (because apparently Walmart has discovered medieval torture as a design inspiration). They even changed the screw on the button and dropped the price by two bucks. Simple, right? Wrong.
The cashier takes one look at my items and informs me—with the conviction of someone defending state secrets—that the barcodes “don’t match” the system, therefore no proof I bought them. I show her my receipt. It has the correct item, screw, and price. Actual proof. Her response? Shrug. Cue 30 minutes of back-and-forth with her and the manager, who kept inventing conspiracy theories about me. The highlight was when he suggested I’d scanned a different item, stolen these shorts, and was now attempting some criminal mastermind scheme where I keep the “real” shorts and return the stolen ones. Really? I’m out here trying to pull a grand Ocean’s Eleven heist over children’s clothing?
Finally, after my patience was legally declared dead, I pointed out the obvious: the shorts match the description on the receipt. In black and white. Case closed. They reluctantly processed the return, but not before I gained an entourage of three Walmart staff following me like I’d just robbed Fort Knox. One guy was even wandering around holding an empty fan box like it was some kind of prop in their amateur spy movie. Another in an Avengers T-shirt, clearly cosplaying as “Security Thor.”
I pay. Random item check. Then, at the door—surprise!—another receipt check. Because nothing says “valued customer” like being treated like a shoplifting mastermind when all you did was buy the wrong toddler shorts.
So, for the employees who turned my day into a circus act and decided tailing me around the store was their big break in retail crime-fighting: congrats, you get one star. And that’s me...
Read moreAVOID THIS LOCATION IF POSSIBLE.I am writing this review to bring serious attention to the management and corporate office regarding the unacceptable behavior and performance of employees at this location. The floor employees are consistently unprofessional. Many display extremely rude behavior, have very poor communication skills (struggling even to answer basic question), and show zero knowledge of where merchandise is located. Instead of helping customers, most employees avoid interaction, walk away when approached, or outright refuse service. On several occasions, they have also refused to call a supervisor when requested. It is very clear that many employees are simply trying to appear busy while in reality doing nothing productive. They are hiding in aisles, pretending to work, and wasting company time. This results in a chaotic, disorganized store environment where employees seem to "rule the floor," while customers are left ignored and frustrated. The lack of accountability and training has turned this Walmart into a poorly managed, customer-unfriendly place. The absence of proper supervision makes it feel like the staff are running the store on their own terms, with no concern for the customers’ presence or experience.Even worse, on one occasion, an employee attempted to run me over with a forklift/pallet jack. This was not only reckless but also dangerous to my safety and to others in the store. Such behavior shows a complete disregard for both workplace safety standards and customer well-being.
I sincerely urge corporate and store management to take this feedback seriously. Customers deserve respect, assistance, and professionalism when they shop. Without immediate corrective action, this location will continue to drive shoppers away and harm...
Read moreGreat Shopping Experience at Walmart and Sam’s Club in Honolulu
During my recent visit to Honolulu, I had the opportunity to shop at both Walmart and Sam’s Club, and I was thoroughly impressed by the experience at both stores.
Walmart: The Walmart in Honolulu is a one-stop shop that had everything I needed and more. The store was well-organized, making it easy to find what I was looking for, whether it was groceries, clothing, or beach essentials. The prices were very reasonable, which is a big plus, especially in a popular tourist destination like Honolulu. The staff was friendly and eager to help, offering assistance when needed and providing great customer service. I also appreciated the store's cleanliness and the availability of a wide range of products, including local Hawaiian goods, which added a nice touch to my shopping experience.
Sam’s Club: My visit to Sam’s Club was equally satisfying. The store offered a fantastic selection of bulk items, which was perfect for stocking up during my stay. From fresh produce to household items, Sam’s Club had it all at competitive prices. The quality of the products was top-notch, and the layout of the store made shopping a breeze. The staff was courteous and efficient, ensuring a smooth checkout process even during busy hours. I also enjoyed the extra services, such as the tire center and the food court, where I could grab a quick bite after shopping.
Overall, both Walmart and Sam’s Club in Honolulu provided excellent shopping experiences. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, these stores offer great value, a wide selection of products, and top-notch customer service. I highly recommend them for all your shopping needs...
