I have a bad experience in this hotel. This hotel is included of wifi so I booked this hotel and I was using eSIM in my phone as well. But wifi here was not great because it kept disconnecting and connected or something like that which was very annoying so I called to the front desk and a woman who I was talking to was rude. She said your phone has a problem and the way she was talking was very rude and then she goes wifi is free so you are not paying for wifi when I said I am paying for the hotel and wifi is included so I am basically paying for wifi. I am staying here so I can use wifi in the room right?haha When I saw her customer service, I was like oh this hotel is just 3 star hotel so the customer service would be like that. I was not comfortable to talk with the woman so I asked her that I’d like to talk with another person and she passed to a manager and then I told her the staff who I was talking to was rude and I explained about wifi again. I don’t think she is a professional manager because when a customer was uncomfortable by the way one of your stuff talked or something, the manager would apologise to me on her behalf if she was professional but the manager was also the same. She said that no one complained about it so probably your phone has a problem. I got iPhone 16 pro a month ago so there is no way my phone has problems. This hotel service especially the way they talked to me is not acceptable. Men stuff who were outside and cleaners were so nice to me but those ladies who I talked to were not. Also she said what you can do is that you can talk to a person who knows about wifi who works for this hotel. I asked her you can come up and see the wifi or you can talk to the person and she said no and you need to wait to get the call. Isn’t that you guys job to fix wifi? Why did I need to take my time to fix it? This is not my wifi obviously lol after that, she called me again and said he can take a look of the wifi in your room. I thought she noticed that I was angry so she started talking it seriously which is too late. And then the guy who can fix wifi came and I told him about the issue and then he said we sometimes need to reboot wifi. So it was not my phone problem. You two were wrong. You guys were just so lazy and just didn’t want to do anything so you guys said your phone has a issue even you guys didn’t check. You two were being rude need to learn customer service and how to talk with customers. I was staying in princess Waikiki before this hotel. The hotel is more expensive but it’s worth to pay because their customer service is amazing. Even a uber driver who I took to come this hotel told me he doesn’t take customers this hotel much but princess Waikiki yes. That explains it now. I was thinking of not complaining about the room when men stuff and cleaners were welcoming and nice to me but since I got bad customer service from two women stuff, I will complain about the room as well. The shower is dirty and the room looked old and it kinda smelled and they don’t provide slippers as well which nice hotels do. In addition to that, customer service is not good which made me angry about the most. There is nothing to praise about this hotel. I have seen some bad reviews as well. I would recommend people to stay in a expensive hotel that provides great service not this kind of cheap hotel so you don’t have to deal those shit while you are on holiday you only deserve to feel happy not uncomfortable feeling like I got...
Read moreGood location and staff but room is outdated for the price.
No USB inputs at all. Not that important for most travelers but important for some and most hotels at lower prices even have it as a standard.
Bathroom is pretty standard. For the price I would at least hope for a bidet toilet setup or expect the toilet to have eco flush but it’s just basic single flush and doesnt even have a quiet close lid.
Major noise warning you’re next to Ala Moana parking. If you’re a light sleeper, stay far away. The garage still has public access late into the night and there is not enough enforcement so very loud cars will come in the middle of the night and rev their engines. The room doesn’t block out most of the noise and I was woken up multiple times due to car noise.
Hotel room noise in general could also be better insulated. You can hear when someone starts showering and even their smart phone alarm.
At night with all the lights off, you can see a large amount of light bleed around the front door so you’re going to hear everything when other tenants enter and exit their rooms and any other noise in general. This also means the AC has to work a little harder with all the hot or cold air just bleeding out of these crevices. A few bits of weatherstripping around the doors would save a lot of money and help with noise.
I couldn’t pinpoint the exact location but you’re able to hear people having conversations though very faintly. No big deal if you can sleep through that.
Great parts about the room are the bed and microwave. Bed was very comfy and microwave was nice to have. The air conditioning also works well and they let you set it below 70 degrees but it’s loud as part of the unit is indoors vs more modern hvac setups with most of the unit outside or at least the indoor section is better insulated. It’s not the loudest AC unit I’ve slept through but something to keep in mind if you’re worried about noise.
You get a big fridge but it seems to be a bit dated for how noisy it is. If you’re here for an extended amount of time, it should fit a good days worth of food and supplies. There’s no water included so make sure to bring your own. There’s a convenience store on the lobby floor.
One thing not uncommon even in fancier hotels are the vents. I wish more hotels would give their vents a good wipe down at least once a month otherwise they tend to get neglected as shown in the photo.
Apart from the noise and price, no big issues with this hotel. If they can resolve those issues and update the rooms without increasing the price, then I could justify...
Read moreThis is another Hawaiian review that's been in the making since Dec. 2023. Hubby and I came to Honolulu, Hawaii on 12/4/23 for a much needed relaxing vacation. We researched for awhile to find a really nice hotel so we were anxious to see this hotel when we arrived.
When we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised. The room is a very nice size. The bathroom has a nice sized tub that I enjoyed soaking in. This room has a balcony with a beautiful, breathtaking ocean view room. That was our favorite part of the room to be able to sit outside on the balcony overlooking waikiki beach. Nice sized TV in this spacious room. The king bed was HUGE! So, so comfortable that you just melt in it. We were so tired when we first arrived so it was really nice to experience comfort after a long flight to Hawaii. We visited the pool area which was so calming and nice. Relaxed in that area for a bit before going to the mall.
The location of this hotel is PHENOMENAL! With outstanding views overlooking Waikiki Beach and it's also right by the Ala Moana Center, the world's largest open-air shopping mall. We enjoyed going to Macy's for their infamous bakery and enjoying their sweet treats and smoothies! We walked along the mall, went into Target and some of the stores. We were surprised how many eating places were there. We went to one of the eateries there and they had live entertainment going on. It was really really nice. The hotel has a skybridge on Level 2 that connects directly to the Ala Moana Center. The hotel is also conveniently located near the Hawaii Convention Center and Ala Moana Beach Park.
The Signature Prime Steak & Seafood gets it's own paragraph. We came here to dine. It's on the 36th floor. The views of Oahu are amazing. The food was DIVINE. There was a piano player who was playing music and he was phenomenal. We were able to talk with him as we were leaving and enjoyed the conversation. We also visited Pint & Jigger when we first arrived to have drinks and lite bites.
For convenience there is a car rental business in hotel. We fully took advantage of the car rental on our last day to drive around Honolulu. The only issue we had with the car rental is when we returned the car, they weren't willing to give us a receipt no matter how many times we asked.
All in all, this was one of the best hotels we have visited. The cleanliness could be improved as we found a strand of hair in bathtub area when we checked in. Highly recommend this hotel for your vaca stay. Thanks Ala...
