After a long 1000-mile journey and arriving at the Supervalu Distribution Center early in the evening for my next day delivery, I had enough energy left to park my truck and walk over to the security shack to check in. Very disappointingly, I was greeted with a sign that read "Walk ups are not accepted." I thought to myself that I am a walk up and I guess I am not accepted. If I am not accepted then am I not welcome too? The sign might as well say Truckers are not welcome. With no one to help me, I had no other alternative but to find and go directly to the receiving office and checked in there. The receiving office personell were very nice and helpful and informed me to check back with them at 0500 hrs in the morning and I they would get unloaded at that time. Additionally, they even provided me with information on where I could eat that night.
The next morning I pulled my truck up to security shack and a bald-headed security personnel was rude and sarcastic to me apparently for not checking in first here. Obviously his people skills are greatly diminished. Furthermore, upon my exit from the property, he would not even make eye contact and waved me on as if to say “just get out of here." It would serve Supervalu Distribution Center well if this personnel could learn to treat people with respect.
It is very disappointing to this trucker to be treated with such disrespect after providing professional service in putting my heart and soul in making this delivery in a safe and...
Read moreThis is the hardest place to find that I have ever been! I'm here and I couldn't get here again, not by following their directions. Neither Garmin nor Google Maps could get me in here. I came in from 494 to 169N to Excelsior. The Excelsior exit is a cloverleaf. It ends at a red light & T's into what looks like a refurbished train depot. Apparently, I should have turned Right & gone under 169. But I saw Unfi behind the train depot so I followed Google & turned left. From there the truck entrance was BADLY marked but I found it. Took me to the wrong place. Had to turn around & go straight under 169. It's like right there. BUT there was a looong line of trucks from the opposite direction. That's why I say, I should have turned Right at the T. From my dock door, it looks like you turn Left at the 1st light, cross the RR tracks & that's where the line forms. I took pictures. 2 stars because it was so...
Read moreLady at the gate was very short and curt but she was by herself and was slammed with outgoing trucks. Guys in Perishable receiving office were nice but touchy and the lumper guy was not bad. Appointment for 1200 arrived at 0845 and got a door, but this load is small (2 pallets), $159 lumper base fee... Little ridiculous but oh well. Nobody here knows what a shovel or plow is and the yard dogs WILL run you over if youre not paying attention. Directions: US169 to Excelsior Ave, go West towards 5th Ave, take left, go around 15mph curve and get in the right turn lane. Pull up as far away from the window as you can (Do NOT walk up to window), check in. Either park off to the right in the will call/holding pen, or get a door. Be nice to folk and they shouldnt give you much trouble. Bathrooms and receiving office were trashed (food on the floor, papers and trash everywhere), but other than it was an...
