I hadn't gotten a professional haircut in almost ten years and for the past two years I had grown my hair out in order to donate to Locks of Love. Couple this with the fact that I really hadn't been taking great care of my hair, and I can tell you my hair was a mess and in really poor condition, falling out and even leaving bald patches (or so it felt like)! I live in South Florida and for anyone who's been here knows, there is a hair salon about every 10 steps away (at least where I live)! Even though there are so many hair salons by me, I really didn't feel comfortable at any of the ones I knew of and heard about. I have gone to very nice salons before, but I just didn't feel comfortable when I would visit these places, even after getting very nice offers from stylists who offered to cut my hair for free the first time!
It was on a trip to Orlando that I happened to walk past Salon Dulay with my boyfriend one morning. It looked very nice and for some reason I felt compelled to go inside and see how it was. I decided to Google the place and check out all the reviews while I walked around the shopping center with my boyfriend. I couldn't find one bad or even shaky review about this place! Every single review was positive and I was pleasantly shocked when I couldn't find anything questionable online.
Of course, I was a little shy because it had been so long since I've had a real haircut and my hair was not in good shape...but after a little push from my boyfriend, we walked inside. There I met a woman named Amanda who was extremely friendly and made me feel VERY comfortable. She told me about the salon, showed me around, and even described the different stylists and their personalities. She helped me to learn about all the different people who worked there and what their personalities are like. In my mind, this helped me match myself with the perfect stylist for me (someone who pays attention to my needs, is an expert with long hair, and is really friendly, but not overly talkative). That happened to be Jason! I was excited when she described someone who sounded like I would feel very comfortable around!
I wanted to start right away, but he happened to be in very high demand :) .... so call me crazy, but I traveled back home 3 hours away, looked at my schedule, made an appointment for a haircut with Jason several weeks later, and made a trip 3 hours away from home just to get my haircut with Jason! When I went in for my haircut, there was no single experience where I didn't feel completely catered to. Every single person went above and beyond out of their way to make me feel not only comfortable, but pampered! The green tea, shampooing, massaging of the arms.... I'm telling you, I could have stayed the rest of my life there and been happy! Everyone was so friendly and I felt like we were best friends by the time I left! Jason was awesome and I couldn't believe how awesome my hair was! We cut off almost half my hair and it wasn't even a shock to me because of how beautiful Jason made my hair look! Probably around 13 inches were cut and I was so afraid my hair was going to be so short I wouldn't be happy....but I absolutely love the style he created for me! It's been about 2-3 weeks since my haircut, and everyone I know has given me so many compliments on not only the style and cut, but the texture too! Whatever my hair was shampooed or conditioned with, or whatever has left it with such a soft and silky texture, made it look like from a hair commercial! I love my new hair! More importantly, I love my new salon! Thank you so much to every single person at Salon Dulay for making my experience one I...

It pains me deeply to write this note, especially after being a loyal customer for over four years. I have always appreciated the talent of your stylists and have consistently recommended your salon to others. Unfortunately, my recent experiences during my last two visits have left me disheartened and compelled to share my concerns.
After returning from an extended trip abroad, I visited the salon twice within three weeks for a routine root touch-up. On both occasions, I was charged for a significantly increased amount of hair color—nearly triple what I have ever required in the past. When I asked for clarification, I was met with vague and unsatisfactory responses. There was no clear explanation, no prior communication about the change, and no logical reason for this increase, especially given that there was no unusual hair growth.
What made matters worse was the demeanor of the front desk supervisor, Rebecca. Both times, she was unapproachable, dismissive, and at times, outright rude. Instead of addressing my questions respectfully, she assumed I intended not to pay and demanded payment in a manner that was unnecessarily harsh and insulting. This behavior was both humiliating and completely at odds with the values of professionalism and hospitality I have come to associate with your establishment.
Despite several follow-ups, I have yet to receive any clarification on the product usage or an acknowledgment of the disrespectful treatment I received. It has now been almost four weeks.
While I continue to hold great respect for the stylists and the upper management, the current front desk experience has become a serious point of friction. I never imagined having to walk away from a place I once recommended so highly—but at this point, I feel I have no choice.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously. A sincere acknowledgment and corrective action would go a long way toward rebuilding trust—not just with me, but with other long-term clients who value respect and...
Read moreAt one point I loved this salon, but as busy as it's gotten both the quality and service has significantly declined. My biggest issues were 1) lack of appointments to do color and hair same day, 2) having to reschedule due to their booking issues, and 3) lastly the lack of quality coming from the stylist and colorist. During my final year here, I would book pretty far in advance and get calls constantly a day before to reschedule because something or another came up, or if I was there already, they would be behind and could only do color so I would have to leave with wet hair after a $150 color job(HUGE pet peeve of mine). This happened my last appointment which was a nightmare, after getting my color done, I was informed my hair stylist was going over with her current appointment so she couldn't cut/style, and there was NO ONE to at least blow dry by hair when I had an event to go immediately after. My master colorist ultimately never had the time to do the work I wanted, we would always book it but then it would get canceled on their end or changed, so I just gave up. Also one of their master stylist, Brad who did a nice job, left, I know it happens but it was part of the issues I had. Over time I just became less and less happy with how my hair was looking, even when I asked to do something different it was like not today maybe next appointment. I couldn't believe after the thousands of dollars I've poured into this place between the services and products, it's been so disappointing, just beware. And there is never an actual owner or real manager onsite, so if you have issues they just aren't handled well, the team just does what they can but they are so busy all...
